It seems that whether we like it or not, Disney is going to continue making live action versions of basically every animated film they’ve ever created. Even movies featuring animals have been no exception, with The Jungle Book coming out a few years ago and The Lion King up this summer. Dumbo has not escaped […]
March Tournament – Disney Songs, round 3
We are up to round 3 of our Disney songs tournament! Okay people. I’m gonna admit – I’m pretty darn surprised by some of the results this round! Our final 8 are not necessarily what I would have predicted (maybe about half of them are songs I thought would end up here) and some of […]
Captain Marvel review
I’ve been pretty excited to see Captain Marvel because there were a lot of things about it that looked promising – a cool female superhero, a retro 90’s vibe, and of course an adorable cat! I also expected it to be another fairly typical Marvel origin story, and it was that. But I really enjoyed […]
March tournament – Disney songs, round 2
The first round of the Disney songs tournament is done! Most of the match ups had a clear winner, but some of them were pretty close. I know it will only get closer as the tournament gets narrowed down to the big favorites. The closest one in this past round was Cruella DeVil vs. Once […]
March Tournament – Disney songs, round 1
Every March I like to get Disney fans to vote in a bracket style tournament for something Disney related – In the past I’ve had my readers vote on their favorite attraction (Haunted Mansion), favorite restaurant (Jiko), favorite food (Dole Whip), animated Disney movie (The Lion King), and Pixar movie (Toy Story). This year, while searching […]
Disney news, rumors, and round up: March 2019
Somehow it’s already March – February seems to go so quickly! There are two big festivals starting in March – the Flower and Garden in Florida and the Food and Wine in California, so both coasts have something to look forward to. New movies will be released, starting with Captain Marvel. And Disney has also […]
Thoughts on the Emperor’s New Groove
This is part of my series “Thoughts on Disney movies,” where I’ve gone back to watch all of the animated Disney features, starting with Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, and then share my thoughts on the blog. Highlights: I really enjoy this movie because it’s just plain fun. It doesn’t do anything above and […]
Mary Poppins Returns review
Okay, I might be a little late in the game, but I finally got around to seeing Mary Poppins Returns this past weekend! I don’t know about you, but it is so difficult for me to find time to go to the movies when the holidays are happening. We have 3 different families […]
Upcoming Disney movies of 2019
Who’s ready to go to the movies? Disney has a lot of exciting titles coming out in 2019, and I’m excited to see most of them. In fact, I’d say there’s probably only 2 or 3 on this list that I won’t end up seeing in theaters. Captain Marvel (March 8) A Marvel movie with […]
Thoughts on Dinosaur
This is part of my series “Thoughts on Disney movies,” where I’ve gone back to watch all of the animated Disney features, starting with Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, and then share my thoughts on the blog. Highlights: Dinosaur is most notable for its animation. The animation was unique because the backgrounds were filmed […]
