(Updated 10/16/21) A look at some ways to put to together easy and affordable Disney Halloween costumes for adults:
It’s no secret that I love dressing up. Anything that requires a good costume, I’m in! Whether that’s race costumes, for theater, murder mystery parties, or of course Halloween. Sometimes I like to spend a lot of time creating a detailed costume, like the time I was Vanellope Von Schweetz. Other years things get busy and I look for something simple, like when we dressed up as Mike Wazowski and Sulley. If you’re looking to dress up this Halloween but want something simple you can wear to work or just around the house, I put together this list of easy and affordable Disney Halloween costumes for adults.
Those were my two main criteria – easy, in the sense that you only need to buy one main “piece” for the costume and you can basically supplement with other staples you probably have at home. And affordable because you probably don’t want to spend $50+ on something that you’re (most likely) not going to wear again.
I’m debating a few costumes this year, but I know whatever I choose will probably be pretty easy and affordable – and of course, Disney!
Here’s a look at some of the best easy and affordable Disney Halloween costumes for adults:
Chewbacca onesie
Onesies are the best for Halloween costumes because you just need the one piece and not really anything else! Plus they are amazingly comfy and will keep you warm, especially if you live in a place that gets colder in October like I do.
Grumpy dwarf accessories
ShopDisney released a few of these accessories sets this year, and they’re a great way to add some detail to a costume. Just use these accessories with brown pants, a red shirt, and a belt and you’re good to go!
Maleficent headdress for adults
Having the headdress is absolutely what makes a Maleficent costume. Use this piece with any sort of black dress or black robes (think old graduation robes or something like that).
Russell from Up accessories
Another cute accessory set, use these with brown pants and a yellow shirt.
Fairy godmother cape and wand
Get a cape and wand to be the fairy godmother! You could wear it with any sort of blue or gray dress.
Scar t-shirt
This one made me laugh – let your shirt speak as its own costume.
Pascal beanie
How cute would it be to dress as Pascal for Halloween? Just get this beanie and dress in green.
Lilo t-shirt dress:
So easy – wear this dress with flip flops and if you feel like it, stick a flower in your hair!
Vanellope leggings
If you happen to have or can find a teal colored sweatshirt, you’ve got a comfy and easily identifiable costume with these leggings.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
A perfect and simple costume for couples or friends. Wear a yellow shirt and red pants, and then add these fun hats! You can always do blue bow ties and red suspenders if you want to really add to the look.
Kristoff shirt
T-shirts that are designed to look like costumes are an easy way to do a basic costume. Try this one that looks like Kristoff’s top and match it with gray pants and boots.
Minnie Mouse skirt
Minnie Mouse’s polka dot skirt is iconic, and once you have that it’s easy to recreate her look with a black top and mouse ears that you may already have!
Moana skirt
Moana has been a popular costume the last few years, but it’s not too hard to put together her look with this skirt. Pair it with an orange colored top and a flower hair clip.

Love these! If I ever dress up for Halloween at all, it’s usually my normal clothes with some type of hat or ears. One of my favorites is to put on a blue dress or top and wear my Sleeping Beauty crown!
Such great ideas!! Love the Lilo one 🙂
Yes, it looks so comfy too!
