Have I previously featured a Baby Yoda mug (or two) on the blog before? I mean really, who’s counting? (Other than me as I go back through my archives to see what mugs I haven’t featured yet and discovered that this is Baby Yoda mug #4). But he’s so cute, can you really blame me?
Sure, WandaVision got a lot of the Disney+ attention earlier this year. And then there was Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which was very good, and we’re excited about Loki. But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about little Grogu! Season 2 of the Mandalorian was just as good as season 1, and I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to see what happens with him in season 3.
It was a Baby Yoda Christmas for me this past December, with about 70% of my gifts featuring this guy. Of course that had to mean a few mugs, including one of my new favorites! Obviously Grogu is adorable all the time, but arguably one of his most cute moments is when he’s just riding around in his levitating crib. Actually I don’t know if it has a name in the Star Wars universe, or what we as fans are even calling it. A crib? Pram? Floating stroller? I personally favor calling it a “pod” just because that’s what they call it in this song that I have stuck in my head basically all the time.
And this mug captures the image of the little guy in his pod. The mug is more rounded than a typical mug might be to look like his pod, and of course Baby Yoda’s head is poking out! On the back of the mug is the Mandalorian logo, and the phrase “The Child” (what we were encouraged to call him before he got his name… but he’ll always be Baby Yoda to me).
What’s in my mug: I just got some new Joffrey’s coffees to try! They make a number of blends that are served in restaurants in the Disney theme parks. I haven’t gotten to try them all at Disney yet but now I can try them at home. Right now I’m enjoying their coffee from The Wave. This is really good and has a lot of flavor. I love breakfast at the Wave and this reminds me of that.
What I’m currently reading: I just had a half marathon on Saturday and it went well, but I’m at the point where I want to improve a little bit but also not hurt myself – and that means really learning some things. Luckily I happen to be a librarian surrounded by books all day, so I headed to the stacks to see what running books we had. I checked out 4 different ones and started with this, which I’m excited about. So far I really like it because it feels like it’s written for someone like me: a person who wants to succeed in running but also will never be an elite athlete. The first few chapters I’ve been agreeing with a lot, so I’m hoping the rest of the book is just as helpful!
What mug are you using right now? And what are you currently reading?
I have a collection of Disney mugs. I love them and use them every single day. The collection grows by one mug every time I visit Disney World. The Grogu mug is adorable. May have to look for one on my next visit. Have a magical day! -Andrea
That is awesome, I typically do that too – that’s how I ended up with so many Disney mugs haha!
That mug is adorable! Congratulations on finishing another half marathon! I hope the book helps keep you inspired and healthy.
Thank you so much! Staying injury free and enjoying running is always the goal 🙂
Oh my goodness, that mug is absolutely adorable! Look at his little face peeking out over the edge of the pod. How freakin’ cute. I recently picked up a new mug at Target (impulse buy!) that says “East Coast Girl.” I’m not sure if I’ll drink out of it or use it as a pen holder yet, but it’s always fun to add to my collection.
Aww I love that! I haven’t been to Target in awhile but it’s easy to impulse but there, haha.
