Some of the great margarita recipes from La Cava del Tequila (last updated 2/22/21):
The past month I’ve been experimenting with recreating some of the margarita recipes from la Cava del Tequila. Since today is Cinco de Mayo I figured it would be a good time to share them all in one blog post! I’ve made three so far (and planning to try another one tonight!), so as I make more I’ll be updating this post and sharing the newest versions.
La Cava del Tequila has changed their menu a few times since they opened – while they have some core margaritas that remain the same, there are others that come and go. One of the coolest things about them is how many unique margaritas they have. While you can get a classic, you can also try all sorts of flavors, different kinds of tequila, and other tequila-based drinks. So far I’ve recreated 8 of these popular Epcot margaritas and hope to do even more!
Avocado Margarita
This is one of my favorite margaritas that you’ll find at La Cava del Tequila. It sounds unusual but is actually quite delicious. The avocado lends a creaminess to it, but it’s just a great balance of tart and sweet with lime juice and midori added as well. Find the recipe for the avocado margarita here!
Black Magic Margarita
The black magic margarita was invented with input from Neil Patrick Harris, who is a big fan of Epcot! If you like a more fruity drink this is the perfect one for you, as it’s made with blackberries and blueberries. Find the recipe for the black magic margarita here!
Cucumber Margarita
The cucumber in this one is pretty subtle, but it’s very refreshing and has some pineapple juice to sweeten it up along with basil leaves and of course lime juice to balance things out. Find the recipe for the cucumber margarita recipe here!
Maelstrom Margarita
A unique margarita, the Maelstrom margarita is named after the old Epcot attraction and features mango, blueberries, and habanero pepper. Find the recipe for the Maelstrom margarita here!
Blood Orange margarita
My personal favorite, this one was just the right balance of sweet and tart flavors. Find the recipe for the blood orange margarita here!
Minty Pineapple Margarita
I wasn’t sure if mint and pineapple would go well together, but the combo actually works. It’s a great, refreshing margarita for summer! Find the recipe for the minty pineapple margarita here!
Wild Passion Fruit Margarita
Passion fruit is such a delicious flavor, and mixed with mango here it’s a wonderful, fruity drink! Find the recipe for the wild passion fruit margarita here!
Horchata Margarita
This is a sweet and creamy margarita with flavors of cinnamon and includes tequila, rum, and whiskey. Find the recipe for the horchata margarita here!
Eventually I think I may want to try and make every margarita on their menu. Maybe I’ll even branch out and try some other tequila based drinks like the Mexican mule, sangria, or El Negroni!

So good! I’ve probably said that about each individually, but I am loving this series. La Cava del Tequila is a favorite stop when we drink around the world. Have you tried the blood orange? That one is so good too!
We’ve been having LOTS of avocados and Mexican lately, so I’ll have to pass these on to my hubby- the bartender!
