It’s the final round of the Star Wars characters tournament – only two remain…
While there were a couple of surprises along the way in how the voting went, I think we ended up with 2 solid choices for the best Star Wars character. My personal choice is still in the running (which doesn’t often happen during these tournaments!). There are a few other characters I enjoy who I wish would have made it further, but I can’t complain here.
Though they put in a good effort, the dark side ultimately could not overcome and make it into the final round. Darth Vader definitely gave Obi-Wan Kenobi a run for his money, as that vote was very close. But Obi-Wan came out the winner. It was also somewhat close between R2-D2 and Grogu, and while both are adorable, loveable characters, our sweet Baby Yoda took the victory here.
But what happens when Obi-Wan goes up against Grogu? Obi-Wan is one of the oldest and most involved characters in Star Wars history. He was very important in the first trilogy (you’re my only hope!), and he played a huge role in the prequels and animated show The Clone Wars. Then he even got his own TV show on Disney+. He’s a powerful Jedi, an interesting character, and fights for the side of good. But he was also a bit too lenient with Anakin in a lot of ways and certainly caused his fair share of problems.
On the flip side, Grogu is a relative newcomer to the Star Wars scene. His first appearance was in The Mandalorian in 2019, and he understandably stole the show. Yes, he is absolutely the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. But as the series goes on he develops more of a personality, and he is becoming a very interesting character as we learn more about him and his backstory. He is extremely powerful and strong with the Force, and he seems to inherently fight for whatever is good and right. Grogu’s loyalty to Mando is fierce. He might get into trouble occasionally, but he is still technically a child.
So the people of Disney in your Day (you all!) have spoken, and it’s now time to vote on our final two! Will your favorite be victorious? Cast your vote now!
