I have some surprising news to share: I went to Disney World for 6 days the first week of September and I did not come home with a mug. This is really only surprising news if you know me, because I (obviously) love Disney mugs and typically come back with one from every trip. For whatever reason, nothing really jumped out at me this trip. I was thinking maybe a mug from the Polynesian, where we stayed, but I wasn’t crazy about the mug they had there. So I wasn’t sure what mug I would be featuring this month.
Then along comes my good friend Kristin, who has accompanied me on a number of Disney trips and has written some guest posts here on the blog as well. She happened to come across a mug that made her think of me, and well… you can probably see why!
This travel mug is perfect for the season. I actually don’t have many Halloween mugs, and a travel mug that I can use to bring to work for 2 months is perfect. Kristin is a huge Halloween person so it will also make me think of her when I use it! It’s my favorite color (orange), a thoughtful gift, and it has baby Yoda on it. What could be better?
On one side of the mug is an illustration of our favorite little Grogu, floating in his pod. On the other side it says “Too cute to spook,” which I wish was true about me but I get spooked easily. Baby Yoda on the other hand is a tough little guy! The words are written in a fun Halloween inspired font and surrounded by purple bats. I’m much more a fan of the fun/light-hearted aspects of Halloween rather than the scary stuff, so this is right up my alley!

What’s in my mug: I was getting some coffee from Joffrey’s recently and noticed that they had a 3 pack of fall flavored Disney coffees, so obviously I couldn’t resist. Expect to see the other two featured in the coming months! But now that it’s fall I can’t resist starting off with the pumpkin coffee. This “Not So Scary Pumpkin Brew” is very tasty, with your typical pumpkin spice flavors that are mellowed out a little by flavors of vanilla.
What I’m currently reading: I normally try to avoid this sort of thing, but I’ve found myself in the middle of about 5 different books right now! I usually have 2 going at once – an audiobook and a physical book. But when we traveled I didn’t want to pack my physical books so I downloaded a new ebook to start. And then I came across this book at my library and thought it would be really helpful so I’m going to give it a read. It’s called The New Rules of Marathon and Half Marathon Nutrition. I’ve been doing pretty well with my run training and strength training, but I’m definitely interested in learning how nutrition will affect my running and things I might be able to do to improve that. I’m typically a little hesitant of nutrition books because I’m not a fan of dieting and weight loss focused ideas but I’ve read the first few chapters and I think his approach sounds promising so far, so we’ll see!
What mug are you using right now? And what book are you currently reading?
