‘Tis the season for Christmas mugs! I have a few Disney-themed Christmas mugs that I like to use, but I actually noticed that I haven’t shared a Christmas one as my mug of the month since 2020. A few of the others that I have shared in the past include an “It’s a Small World” Christmas-themed mug, the 2018 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party mug, a Starbucks mug that features a gingerbread castle, and a Mickey and Minnie Christmas mug.
Now there’s a new Disney Christmas mug to join the family – and we’re adding a touch of Marvel this time! If the Avengers were a Christmas sweater turned into a mug, it would be this.
I love the appearance of this mug. It’s decorated and textured to look like a wool sweater, which is very fun. I also appreciate the more subtle approach to the details and the more muted color scheme. You’ve got an off-white mug with dark green details, and then different Avengers logos that look as if they are stitched.
As you rotate the mug, you’ll see a few of our main original Avengers highlighted. Starting from one handle, you have the Hulk’s fist and Thor’s hammer. Then towards the middle, Captain America’s shield. Finally, you’ve got Iron Man’s mask and Black Widow’s hourglass.
Their logos are interspersed with cross-stitch style snowflakes. You also have a touch of red with the Marvel logo, which is printed twice on both sides of the mug.
Disney made this mug last year, and there were a few different items that had the same sort of pattern. If you’re wondering if I have the matching shirt… well, the answer is yes! At some point I will have to make sure that I use the mug and wear the shirt at the same time.
What’s in my mug: Of course I’m all about the Christmas flavors this time of year! If I’m making coffee at home, I use a peppermint creamer to add that taste of the holidays. When I’m getting coffee out and about I’m a sucker for a peppermint mocha. I’ve taste tasted the 3 major places near me (Starbucks, Wawa, and Dunkin) and I can tell you in my opinion, when it comes to peppermint mochas, Wawa is the winner.
What I’m currently reading: I wasn’t even sure if I should share this, as I’m not sure anything will really come from it. But I recently did a creative writing class for the middle schoolers where I work, and got back into some creative writing myself. I had an idea for a historical fiction book, but it’s a genre I’ve never really tried before. I figured I should at least try to get some background on it to see if this is actually something I can do! So that’s why I’m currently reading a book about writing historical fiction.
Do you have a holiday mug that you like to use? And what are you currently reading?
