If you’ve been around Disney World much lately and you happen to pay attention to merchandise, you’re probably familiar with Corksicle (or you’ve at least heard the name). They started popping up around Disney Springs, and then became a sponsor for some of the RunDisney events. They have a number of collabs with Disney now, including Mickey and Minnie, Princesses, Star Wars, and Marvel.
They make high-quality, insulated cups of all different styles, with everything from travel cups to wine glasses to coffee mugs. Some of their designs are really cool looking, and I’ve always kind of had one on my “wish list” but never bought one… because they are a bit pricey. But thanks to one of my best friends who is also a great sale shopper, I am now the proud owner of a Grogu Corksicle mug!
Because of course I would want the Grogu one! One thing that I love about most of their Star Wars and Marvel designs is that they’re pretty subtle (I mean, aside from the big baby Yoda ears, but they are removable). It’s not a picture of Baby Yoda slapped onto a cup, it’s the style and the coloring.
You could use this mug and other people might be none the wiser. The ears are really fun, but they are also super easy to take off and on if you don’t want to show off your nerdiness to everyone – or if you just find those big ole ears getting in the way.
It also comes with a lid, which is really nice to keep your drink warm (or to keep your stuff safe, if you’re clumsy like me). They say their mugs keep drinks warm for up to 3 hours and cold for up to 9 hours. I haven’t tested anything cold in it yet, but I would say 3 hours was about right for the warm beverages. I am a slow coffee drinker, so it’s nice when I don’t have to reheat it every 30 minutes!
Now is also the perfect time to be using this mug since we’re right in the middle of season 3 of The Mandalorian! I thought it started a bit slow for the first two episodes, but it’s gotten rather interesting since then. I feel like they’re building to something and I can’t wait to see how all of the pieces come together.
What’s in my mug: The bad news was that I ran out of all of my “fun” coffee, so I’ve just been drinking boring grocery store coffee. The good news is that my order from Joffrey’s just arrived this afternoon, so I’ll be able to try some fun new Disney-inspired coffee flavors this month!
What I’m currently reading: I’m in the middle of reading a middle grade novel written in verse called Aniana Del Mar Jumps In by Jasminne Mendez. I’m actually listening to the audiobook and I’m about halfway through. It’s about a girl who loves to swim, but her mom doesn’t want her to swim because her brother drowned when she was growing up. Dad takes Aniana to swimming lessons anyway without telling mom, but then Aniana starts to suffer from some sort of health problems and has to be honest with the doctor about what she’s been doing.
It’s a beautifully written story with so many emotional themes, from her mother’s grief (and strong religious beliefs which lead her to believe Aniana is being “punished” for her sins somehow), to Aniana’s struggles with not only her pain, but struggling to do the one thing that brought her the most joy. I’ve been dealing with a few health issues myself, which have definitely affected my running in a lot of ways, and I’m connecting a lot to the emotions in the story.
What mug are you using right now? Are you watching season 3 of The Mandalorian?
