When Jason and I stayed at the Boardwalk resort for our anniversary trip in September, we were excited about how much there was to do right there. One of the things that we definitely wanted to make time for was a trip to AbracadaBAR. This is a relatively new bar (opened in August 2016) and while it’s a small place, it has fun themeing and a neat atmosphere.
As you might have guessed from the name, AbracadaBAR has a magician theme. It’s got lots of fun little touches. The posters on the wall seem to advertise different magic shows, but look closely – they magically change throughout the evening! There’s tons of other stuff in the display cases to look at too, so see what you can discover.
They currently have a small food menu, though we didn’t try any of the food items because were were stuffed from the Food and Wine Festival! We did, however, spend an hour or two sampling some of the drinks here. Let’s take a look!
Hoodunit’s Punch
Captain Morgan, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Coconut. This was Jason’s choice as he is the one between the two of us who actually really enjoys the fruity drinks the most. It’s what we like to call a “cruise ship style cocktail”, easy to drink.
Conjurita
El Mayor Tequila, Cointreau, Simple Syrup, Lime Juice. Taste wise it’s a typical lime margarita despite the color, but good quality. The cool thing is that when you order it the drink it changes color when they pour it from a dark purple to a lighter purple/pink!
Elixir
Lucid Absinthe, Sugar Cube, Water. I like licorice but this was a bit much for me. The drink is very one-note because, well, it’s basically just absinthe. It took me awhile to get through it, which is why Jason ended up ordering 3 drinks to my 2.
Sour Assistant
Breuckelen Distilling 77 Whiskey and House-made Sweet-and-Sour. This is a Whiskey sour and they certainly did not skimp on the whiskey! It was quite strong so you got your money’s worth on this drink.
Magic Mirror
Bacardi Rum, Soda Water, Mango Syrup, Sprite, Lime Juice. When AbracadaBAR first opened this was a non-alcoholic drink, but they got smart and added rum to it! This is probably my favorite drink that I had there. It’s sweet without being overly so and still packs a punch. And it’s pretty too.
Seashore Sweet
Absolut Citron, Odwalla Lemonade, Cotton Candy Syrup. Yeah, you might be able to tell by the description (not to mention the name) of this drink – but it is SWEET. If you like extremely sweet drinks this might be the one to go for, otherwise it’s a lot to drink a whole glass of it. It’s a fun taste but perhaps not for more than a few sips.
Parlor Trick – Four Roses Bourbon Small Batch, Simple Syrup, splash of Soda Water. While we didn’t try this one on our trip, I made my own version at home using Four Roses Bourbon, and the recipe is here.
Overall this new bar is a great addition to the Boardwalk. While the theme is well done, it’s not overly immersive like Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. I don’t think that’s good or bad – just different. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back in the future!

Which drink would you want to order from AbracadaBAR?
The drinks you have here all look amazing! I’ve axtually never been to Disney world, but I always hear amazing things about it. I hear they put incredible detail in all they do down to the smallest thing, including their drinks!
It’s true – and I feel like they’ve really been expanding the offerings they have for adults lately, so it’s really not just for kids. There are so many amazing themed bars with incredible drinks now!
I’ll take a Magic Mirror please! These all look so tasty.
That one was my favorite! I’ll have to go back and try it again 😉
This looks so fun and I love the names of all the drinks! I’d love to visit!
Yes, they were so clever with the titles! I love how Disney does themes!
