March tournament – Disney+ TV shows, round 1

Don’t worry, I didn’t forget – the annual Disney in your Day March tournament is back for another year! Every March I like to get Disney fans to vote in a bracket style tournament for something Disney related – In the past I’ve had my readers vote on their favorite attraction (Haunted Mansion), favorite food (Dole Whip), animated Disney movie (The Lion King), favorite song (Under the Sea), Disney villains (Hades), Pixar movie (Toy Story), and Disney sidekick (the Genie). We’ve covered a lot already, so this year I thought we could take a look at Disney+ and vote for our favorite Disney+ TV show.

Which Disney+ shows qualified for this tournament?

There is a lot of great content on Disney+, so to narrow it down I set some criteria for myself. The first thing was that it had to be a Disney+ original series. That meant it debuted on Disney+ (not anywhere else previously) and it was TV show style content with multiple episodes. That eliminated any original movies (though that could be its own tournament soon!), standalone shorts, etc.

How did you pick these Disney+ shows?

Because there were so many options to choose from, you might notice below that I created 4 different subcategories (think “regions” or “leagues” in sports style tournaments). The first is Marvel and Star Wars, then live action drama/comedy, then documentary-style shows, and finally animated shows. I tried to pick what I felt was the most popular or talked about in each category.

What are some these Disney+ shows?

If you watch Disney+, at least a good portion of these titles are probably familiar to you. But there may be some that you haven’t heard of! Below I’m going to give a very brief description of each show. Maybe something will catch your eye that you didn’t know about and you’ll be giving it a watch soon!
