March 2025 tournament – Disney villain sidekicks, round 4

We are now on to round 4, which means we now have your final 4 Disney villain sidekicks!

That leaves us with one from each category. We have 1 human sidekick, 1 animal sidekick, 1 group of sidekicks, and 1 from the “other” category. Some of the results are what I was thinking from the beginning, but one or two surprised me!

The human sidekick is not one of the surprises. Kronk (Emperor’s New Groove) beat out Smee (though Smee did get some votes!). They are both somewhat loveable villain sidekicks – perhaps not the case for the others remaining!

Because now Kronk goes head-to-head with the Hyenas from The Lion King. I think we have two very different types of villain sidekicks here. Kronk is not the smartest, and while he does what Yzma tells him to, he eventually develops a conscience. The Hyenas, on the other hand, are a bit of a wildcard. They have no problem helping Scar out with all of his evil deeds. They also turn on their villain in the end, but not because of any sort of moral realization to do better.

On the other side of the bracket, we have Iago from Aladdin coming out victorious as the top animal sidekick. He’s a great character all around – he’s got personality, he’s some comic relief, but he also has a mean streak and is clearly on the side of villainy. He fits the part of villain sidekick really well.

He’ll be up against the Magic Mirror from Snow White. An usual sort of sidekick, as the mirror doesn’t have much personality and is really just doing his job (unfortunately for him, he’s owned by the Evil Queen so he’s dragged into the all the evil).

So we have a dumb but loveable villain sidekick up against a trio of hyenas who can provide some great comedic moments, but ultimately are a good bit scary in their own right. And then there’s a talking parrot who’s actually pretty smart and doing what he can to help his villain get ahead, who’s up against a Mirror who is forced to tell the truth to the Evil Queen. Who will win?

There’s only one way to find out what will happen now, so let’s get the voting going. It’s time to cast your votes for round 4!

Did your favorite make it into the final 4? Who are you rooting for now?
