March 2025 tournament – Disney villain sidekicks, round 2

The first round of the Disney villains sidekicks tournament is over!

As usual, the first round was the easiest one. There were a number of villain sidekicks that rose up on top of others, and nothing truly surprised me. There was only one match-up that turned out differently than I had predicted. That was Flotsam and Jetsam vs Horace and Jasper. I figured that one would be close but thought Horace & Jasper’s comedic approach might pull out ahead of the more creepy Flotsam & Jetsam. I figured wrong, with Ursula’s sidekicks taking the win here!

I do also run the voting through my Instagram stories (@disneyinyourday) so if the results here don’t look like they match up with the blog voting all the time, there’s a reason for that! I tally the Instagram results and the blog results together for the final numbers.

There were a few characters that got more votes than I expected too, even if they didn’t win. Good job to Trigger & Nutsy, Molt, and Gideon for coming close in their match-ups, even if they didn’t win.

Poor Lawrence, on the other hand, didn’t get a single vote. Not here on the blog or on the instagram polls.

Really what this first round did was just get rid of the “extra” villain sidekicks. The ones that none of us would really have expected to see in the finals anyway.

Now it gets a little harder! There are still a few match-ups which I think are “easier,” but there are also some tough choices to be made. LeFou or Smee? Pain & Panic or the Stepsisters? And on a personal note, I’m finding the choice between the Magic Mirror and Sour Bill rather tough.

So it’s time to cast your votes for round 2!

Did your favorite villain sidekick make the cut? Which evil Disney sidekicks are you rooting for in this round?
