One of the things I’m looking forward to the most about the end of October is season 2 of the Mandalorian! The new season comes out on Disney+ starting October 30th. They release one episode a week, so you can’t binge it right away. Personally, I prefer this format. It gives me something to look forward to each week and it’s fun to talk about each episode and speculate on what’s going to happen with friends during the week.
I’m not big on rewatching shows (I have so many new ones I want to watch!), but I’ve watched season 1 of the Mandalorian twice already. And honestly I’m so excited I might watch it a third time before the end of the month. With only 8 episodes about a half hour long it’s not too time consuming.
And I don’t mind because baby Yoda brings me so much joy! Technically known as “the Child,” he’s just the cutest thing. So of course I’m drinking out of my new baby Yoda mug! A friend of mine was at a book store that had a whole display of Star Wars items and as soon as she saw this she knew she had to text me and ask if I wanted it. Of course I did!
This one has the phrase “Protect, Attack, Snack” on it. I believe it’s inspired by an old meme but it works perfectly for baby Yoda since these are many of the things he does. He protected Mando a few times using his Force powers to attack. And yeah, he likes a good snack. If it’s not a frog it’s a nice bowl of soup.
You might notice that I didn’t take a photo of this mug with my current reading material as I normally do. That’s because I’ve been very into audiobooks lately which don’t photograph as well! Instead I included this adorable baby Yoda that was made for me by a very special friend. She made it and sent it to me during a time when my depression was really hitting hard, so it means the world to me.

What’s in my mug: Continuing with all of the villains themed coffees from Expedition Roasters, this month I’m trying the Voodoo Brew. They just introduced it, and it’s inspired by Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Since that’s my favorite Disney movie I had to try it! The flavor is black velvet cognac. I found it to be stronger in chocolate flavor (didn’t really get hints of cognac) but it’s a nice treat!
What I’m currently reading: I’ve been listening to a lot of audiobooks, and lately my latest listen is The Extraordinaries – it’s a YA novel and for the most part it’s a lot of fun. It is cheesy, over the top, campy – so if you can get into that sort of thing you’ll probably really enjoy it like I did. “Flamboyant 16 year old superheroes who also write fanfiction” is a good description of what you’re getting yourself into! It does have a bit of a problematic storyline in that the main character’s father is a police officer and the police are shown in a really positive light (despite the fact that his dad punched a witness). In today’s society I’m really hoping the author will address this more in the coming sequel.
What mug are you currently using? And what are you reading?
Ahh I love this idea! The mug is super cute 🙂

Oh my goodness, that’s such a cute mug! I was just chatting about the upcoming season of The Mandalorian with my husband last night. I’m really looking forward to it, though I wish I could binge it all at once. Last season, we waited for them all to come out and then watched them! I think your book sounds really interesting too. Have you read the Renegades series? I feel like you’d enjoy that!
Cute mug! I am not really into much Star Wars, so I haven’t watched The Mandalorian, but I think Baby Yoda is absolutely adorable. I love the idea of listening to audiobooks, but I always have trouble really getting into the story that way. I guess I’m more of a visual person, but I do love a good YA novel. It sounds like a fun read.
It took me a little bit to adjust to audiobooks – I used to have a lot of trouble getting into them, but now I’ve somehow adapted haha! I spend so much time in my car that it’s nice to have that option. I usually choose lighter stuff for audio, like kids or YA books so it doesn’t always need 100% concentration.
Baby Yoda was huuuge last year! I love how cute he is! And the Yoda doll is just too adorable.
