At first glance, this might not seem like a Disney mug. It has a cool tie-dye pattern, and an inspirational sort of phrase (“Good Vibes Only”). Turn it around to the other side, though, and you’ll find it is definitely Disney – it’s Zootopia inspired!
If you don’t remember all the details or the movie (or you haven’t seen it – and you should!), this character is named Yax. He’s a Yak, and Nick and Judy seek him out while on their quest to find Emmitt Otterton.
He is definitely the kind of character who seems like they would embrace “good vibes only” – he’s meditating when they first encounter him and he embraces a naturalist lifestyle (including dress code!). Fun fact: his character name written in the screenplay is “Yax the Hippie Yak.”
I got this mug at quite a bargain. We have a Disney outlet store about an hour from here, and when I visited one time I found this mug. It was on clearance, and then clearance was on sale, and I think I ultimately paid less than $2 for it. It’s fun – I like the tie dye design!
A Zootopia mug also has a special place in my heart. Way back in the day, when I first started posting my Disney mug of the month feature, the very first mug I shared was a Zootopia one. That one featured Flash the sloth with another fun phrase on it.
What’s in my mug: Just yesterday, I ran out of coffee. Disaster! While I’ll get some boring coffee to hold me over in the meantime, that also means I’ll need to place an order for some fun Disney-themed coffee soon! I have two main places I order from, Joffrey’s and Expedition Roasters. I think it’s time for another Joffrey’s order, but there’s so many good flavors I’m debating between! Maybe you can help me narrow it down. The flavors I’m eyeing up are Tiana Bayou Beignet (notes of honey and powdered sugar), The Lion King 30th (carmelized brown sugar and cinnamon), Kona (from Kona Cafe), Belle Storybook Brew (cream and hazelnut), Encanto blend (Colombian), Sanaa blend, Precious Cargo (just cause the Grogu artwork is so cute). Which one(s) would you choose?
What I’m currently reading: I really love this book Feel Good Productivity. While it focuses on ways to be more productive, it does so with a realistic approach. It also acknowledges a lot struggles with trying to balance productivity and well-being. In particular, it discusses some of the more problematic productivity strategies or “hacks” that are out there. I love what the author has to say about procrastination, what it really means, and the best way to overcome it. I think trying to force yourself to do things, just powering through, being too hard on yourself, etc., are just going to cause burnout. I like the ideas and tips in this book because they feel realistic and healthy. I’m starting to apply them to my life and I’m feeling pretty good about things!
What mug are you using right now? Have you read any good books lately?
I would personally choose the Belle Storybook Brew because I love hazelnut coffee!
