I have a lot of coffee mugs. In fact, every time I see one that I like my husband gets this look on his face like “don’t you dare buy that.” And I always try to tell him, “But it’s so cute! Isn’t it?” And then he tells me we already have way too many coffee mugs and my sad puppy dog eyes don’t work and I don’t end up buying it. Even so, I often tell people about Disney mugs I like when they ask if there are any gifts I want, or I happen to get them from Disney subscription boxes and other things, so I’ve ended up with a pretty good collection. I thought it might be fun to start sharing some of my Disney mugs!
The mug I’m drinking out of this month actually is one that I bought myself. When we were up in Hershey for the 10k two weeks ago I saw a mug that I loved at the Disney outlet store. And of course I was told that I already have too many mugs. But the next day I told Jason I slept on it, and decided I still really wanted it, so we went back and I bought it!
I mean, I loved Zootopia, so how could I not get some sort of merchandise from the movie?
Even if you haven’t seen the film, chances are you’ve seen some sort of the previews and you might be familiar with this sloth, Flash. The scene he was in was pretty funny. Actually, the first time I saw it I thought it was pretty funny. Then I went to see it a second time with someone else who hadn’t seen the previews or anything, and he laughed so much at it that it just made me laugh even more. Basically, it’s hilarious.
And as any sloth would say, “What’s the Rush?”
What I’m drinking: So what’s in my cup? This time around I’ve got some earl grey tea, my favorite type of tea. When I’m trying to slow down a little and not rush through life, like my good friend Flash suggests, I go for tea instead of coffee.
What I’m reading: Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert. I’m over halfway through it and have found this book to be pretty inspiring and motivating. It’s about “living a creative life,” and with my interests of writing, blogging, and theater I find a lot that can apply to my life. I like how she advocates for still pursuing creativity in your life without giving up your day job. She also emphasizes that you don’t have to write a best seller or be a star to get a lot of fulfillment out of a creative life. I love that message.
What mug are you drinking out of? What’s in your mug, and what are you currently reading?
Oh my goodness! Love this mug. He was one of my favorite characters in the movie!
Right, he was so hilarious!
what a perfect mug! Earl Grey is my favorite type of tea too.
Mmm, I’m always a fan of earl grey!
Oh my goodness, I’m the exact same way with mugs! I buy way too much of them, but then I end up only using the same one or two. It’s bad. I’m trying to stop but this one is SO cute! I almost wish they hadn’t shown this particular scene in the trailer because it was not as funny in the context of the entire movie. Still, he was hilarious!
In my mug: black coffee. In my hand: Jane Eyre!
I’m totally with you! I’m going to try and do a monthly feature of a different Disney mug to encourage me to use them more often 😉 And I agree, I wish they hadn’t given away so much in the preview, because if you’d seen that it kind of ruined it a little. But that’s why it was funnier the second time, because the person I was with had no idea it was coming!
Oooh, I love Jane Eyre! I need to give that one a re-read sometime soon.
Such a cute little mug!

It is, definitely makes me happy to see it!
That mug is super cute! Love the saying! I only have coffee if I’m super, super tired, so it’s mostly tea for me. I like Chai or English Breakfast with a splash of cashew milk. I found some really cute and cheap mugs after Valentine’s at Target, so I’ve been using those lately. I have a thing about the shape of my mug. It has to have a certain roundness, but not too round. I’m a weirdo.
Mmm, I really like Chai tea as well. I can be picky with my mugs too – I prefer bigger ones so that I only fill the cup up halfway and not have to worry about spilling or anything.
OMG that mug is the best. I’m obsessed with that sloth!
Me too, he’s the best!
What a cute mug! My husband and I tend to buy ornaments when we’re in Disney but we have bought family members different mugs. They have such fun designs!
Ornaments are another thing that I apparently have too many of! My husband says we need to get more ornaments that aren’t Disney 😉 I tried to tell him this just means we need to get two Christmas trees, so I can do an all Disney one!
Lol, what’d your husband say when you bought this one?
He was actually with me this time – he was with me in the store when I first saw it and wanted it but I didn’t buy it. But the next day after telling him I decided I really wanted it and it wasn’t just an impulse purchase he let me go back and buy it haha.
I love my mug. Isn’t it funny how we get attached to such things. So funny how we like our routines!
It’s so true. My day doesn’t feel complete without a good cup of coffee or tea in a fun mug!
