Muppet humor is a certain kind of humor that I think people either love or hate. And I happen to be one of those people who love some Muppet humor. Their movies and the TV show have me constantly cracking up. And I love how they can be funny while still being so family friendly. So when they announced they were adding a new Muppets show into Liberty Square about a year ago, I was super excited!
With 4th of July coming up, there’s no better way to celebrate the holiday than by reliving some of the great moments in American history with some of your favorite Muppets. Sam the Eagle is of course a big fan of America. One of my favorite moments of Muppet Vision 3D over in Hollywood Studios is his line about “a salute to all nations… but mostly America!”
Great Moments in History actually has two different little shows that play throughout the day. One is a retelling of the story of Paul Revere, and the other is about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. They are both an atypical retelling, of course with a Muppet twist on the series of events. The Declaration of Independence one also involves a live town crier, and the one we saw was a great singer. It’s the classic combination of Muppets and human actors.
And of course there is a great theme song to go along with the show. You certainly can’t beat a song that has the lyrics “Great moments in history… but only the American parts!”
If you’re in Magic Kingdom and want to catch the show (and I recommend you do!) check out the times guide to see if the showings are listed. Sometimes they have been and sometimes they aren’t, but if you can’t find it ask a person working by the Hall of Presidents and they can usually find out for you. There are shows every 1/2 to an hour and they happen outside the Hall of Presidents. The shows are only about 7-8 minutes so you should definitely take a little time out of your day to catch it!
Have you seen The Muppets present Great Moments in History? Do you like the Muppets?

I was very sad when they cancelled the latest Muppets TV show. I thought it was very funny.
Me too! I really wish it hadn’t been cancelled.
