There’s belts, pouches, and pockets that you can use to hold your stuff while you run – and then there’s the Armpocket. It’s an armband designed for the runner in mind, and they come in a variety of sizes and types so you can choose the one that works best for you. It straps around your arm with Velcro and can hold a number of items while you run.
One of the really nice things about the Armpocket website is the fact that you can browse either by product or by phone type. Armpockets come in a variety of sizes so you can be certain to buy one that fits your device. They list tons of phones and you can select the one that you have, which then will direct you to which Armpockets will work for you.
If you want one that will hold your essentials but not be too heavy on your arm, you can get one of the slimmer models. I myself went for a bigger one that holds more stuff, but it’s awesome that you get the choice. I love the fact that mine is big and can hold so much. I can put my ID, credit card, phone, ipod, and my whole key ring (not just one key) in it.
Out of all the options I have for carrying my stuff, I have to say that the Armpocket is the one that I probably use most often. I just really like it for runs that I’m doing away from my house. If I have to drive, I need my car key clicker (I have a Prius which doesn’t have a typical key), and it fits in the Armpocket easily. It holds everything I want to have with me when I know I’m going to be away from my car and don’t want to leave anything of value in there. And yes, I use both an iPod and my phone, so I like the fact that both can fit. The Armpocket also has a slit on the bottom for your earbud cord.
I also find it to be pretty comfortable, despite how much stuff I have crammed into it. It might take a little bit of time to get used to at first since you’re adding extra weight to your arm, but it’s one of the most out of the way methods for holding stuff that I’ve found so far.
They come in a variety of colors so you can find something that you like, and now there’s also a “Nighthawk” version that’s perfect for those running in the early hours of the morning or late at night! It has two built in lights – a white one that helps illuminate your path, and a red one so that others can see you from behind. I think this is a great addition to the Armpockets that they already have.

I’ve been eying one of these for a while! I always end up carrying all of my stuff when I run or work out!
This is great! I never check my phone while running but use it for the running app.
I never get my phone unless a certain ringtone goes off. That way I know it is either one of the kids or hubby.
This sounds awesome! I try and avoid checking my phone as much as possible, but I usually do at least twice
Thank you! I need a new arm band!!
I check my phone way too often when I run!
I don’t so much as check my phone as I use it to take pictures on my runs!
I never check it during the run, but use it for running app. 🙂 And I’ve been carrying it in my hand. sweaty??!!
I check my phone a couple of times 🙂
I never run with my phone b/c I hate carrying it and don’t have an arm band. I would love to start carrying it so I can put the app on it where my family can track me on my run.
I check my phone often because I use a Galloway app and/or Map My Run so I’m always looking to see my progress. When my phone is on my arm it lets me focus on my run and not my apps. But lately, I’ve been running with it in my hand. An armpocket would be a nice addition to my run!
I check my phone way too much!
I check my phone at the beginning and end of my run. I would put it on airplane mode if it didn’t turn off RunKeeper! – an MRTT mama!
a couple of times….hard to see.
How often do you check your phone when you run?
Umm, depends on the time I’m out on the trail. Usually only when it rings just to see if it’s my family. 🙂
Now that I have a Garmin, I don’t check it nearly as much. It irritates my skin to take my armband off and on. But I still check it on occasion, especially if I’m running alone and bored. 🙂
I usually don’t check my phone unless I want to see how far I’ve run. Maybe once or twice a run.
