Good news – this 4th box from the Disney Treasures subscription box was definitely the best one yet! I’d been lukewarm on the three previous boxes, but I was very pleased with this one. Disney treasures subscription is by Funko, and if you’re not familiar with Funko, they are the company that makes those POP Vinyls – the little figures with the big heads. Disney POPs are very popular, so a partnership for a subscription box between these two companies was very exciting news for many! The boxes are delivered every other month and include classic Disney and Disney theme park themed items, and will always have at least 1 exclusive POP vinyl, in addition to other goodies.
This month’s theme was perfect for October, as it was a “Haunted Forest” theme. Not surprisingly, it focused on villains and anything spooky.
The big item in the box, and I do literally mean big, was the Pop Vinyl. I know a lot of people were hoping for something Maleficent in this box, and they defintiely should not have been disappointed by this. The Pop is a Maleficent Dragon, and it’s bigger than your average size Pop. She is very cool looking and I’m super excited to add this one to my collection. I just hope she isn’t too big to fit on my fireplace mantle where I keep all of my other Pops right now!
Another item that’s been popping up a lot in boxes is these Dorbz figures. In this box we get another villain – this time Cruella DeVil. This is probably my least favorite item in the box and the only one I might consider parting with, but she’s still kinda adorable and I certainly don’t mind keeping her. My only real complaint was that the figurine itself was a little scuffed up. She had some marks on her face and the white part of her hair. I’m hoping I can clean her off.
Every Disney Treasures box has also contained one of these little figures in a themed tin (I’m not sure if they have a name?). The tins have all been gorgeous and I want to keep them all, though I’m not quite sure what I should use them for. And the figures are really cute too, but this is most definitely the best one we’ve seen. It’s the Hatbox Ghost from Haunted Mansion! A perfect addition to all of my Haunted Mansion decor that I bring out during the Halloween season.
Finally, we got a small bag that would be perfect for trick-or-treating. It features Zero from The Nightmare before Christmas. This is the sort of extra little thing that hadn’t been included in previous boxes and I was really glad to see.
Like all the other boxes we also got a patch and a pin, featuring two more villains. The patch has the Magic Mirror from Snow White, and the pin is Jafar.
The first three boxes hadn’t quite been right up my alley or overly impressive, but this box definitely turned things around and made me excited for the next box coming in December. That theme is “Snowflake Mountain” so I think it will be fun to get some stuff that will work with my Christmas decor to add a little Disney to my Christmas! I fully expect to see Frozen make an appearance, though I’m curious what else we might get.
