Last month I got to visit Disneyland, and as part of that trip we were able to take a private tour of the Walt Disney Studios! There were lots of cool things to see and we learned a bunch of interesting facts and history about the company. The concluding part of the tour was a trip to the Disney Store on property, where we got 20% off! Of course I had to buy a mug there…
This mug features a classic Mickey Mouse illustration with the words “Mickey Mouse” in big red retro looking letters and then “sound” and “cartoons” underneath. Finally it has the address “500 S. Buena Vista Street,” which is of course the address of the Walt Disney Studios. It’s kind of an interesting design because unlike most mugs, where the main image is on the side next to the handle, this one is right in the middle of the mug. So it made it a little bit tricky to get a photo of it!
One kinda cool thing is that this mug also came with a ceramic coaster. The coaster has the same picture of Mickey and a few of the same words, but it also has the phrase “Walt Disney Studios” around it. I always try to use a coaster with my coffee mugs because I have a glass coffee table, so I will get some use out of this!
What’s in my mug: I’m finishing up my Tiffins Artifact coffee blend from Joffrey’s. I really like the Joffrey coffees in the different restaurants around the parks, so I’m interested in trying some more. I’ve enjoyed the Kona blend a lot in the past. What should I get next? I’m looking at Sanaa, Trattoria al Forno, Flavors of Africa, or maybe the Wave. What’s your favorite Disney coffee?
What I’m currently reading: I’ve literally just started this one so I can’t tell you too much about it yet, but I just picked up Mirror, Mirror: A Twisted Tale. I’ve read a number of the other books in this collection, including A Whole New World, As Old as Time, and Once upon a Dream. The tagline for this one is “what if the Evil Queen poisoned the prince?” I think that sounds super interesting and exciting, and hopefully makes Snow White a bit more of a powerful female figure!
What’s in your mug? And what are you currently reading?
I love this mug! It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Disney, but my mom and I often buy mugs when we’re there. I also really want to pick up that book now, it sounds super fun.
Classic Mickey is such a cutie. I’ve been meaning to read a few of the Disney-inspired books you’ve recommend on your blog, but I haven’t had a chance to curl up with a book lately! 🙁
