Disney mug of the month: Tokyo Disney

August 28, 2019 by Becky 4 Comments

I wasn’t sure originally what I was going to feature for my August mug of the month. I have 2 or 3 that have been on my shelf for awhile that just haven’t made it on the blog yet, so I figured I would pull one of those. However, my plans changed when my good friend Kristin came back from Tokyo Disney with a gift for me!

My souvenir from her adventures was this cute ceramic coffee travel mug. She was looking for a more traditional mug for me but mentioned she didn’t really come across any in their gift shops. Hard to imagine given how many mugs you can find here in the US Disney parks! But at least they had this one, which works well because I don’t have too many travel mugs. It’s kinda neat because this one has a rubber top and sleeve on it as well.

There are some cute designs on it, featuring the big Disney characters in white on a red background, with some palm trees and decorations added in a sketch style. You’ll find Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. It also has the quote “where dreams come true” surrounded by music notes.

What’s in my mug: I just finished off the last of my Joffrey’s coffee, which was the artifact blend from Tiffins. The timing is pretty good though because my new package of coffee arrived from Expedition Roasters! You’ll be seeing those in the next few months. I’ll probably order more from Joffrey’s and Expedition Roasters in November, when they do their Black Friday/Cyber Monday specials.

What I’m currently reading: I’m on the last few pages of The Hamilton Affair, by Elizabeth Cobbs. I’ve been super into the Hamilton musical soundtrack and particularly interested in the story, so this book intrigued me. It’s fiction but based on the historical aspects of Hamilton’s life. It was billed as their love story, but Hamilton and Eliza didn’t even meet until about 150 pages in so I thought it started a little slow. It did pick up from there and has been enjoyable, though now I’m more interested in reading some non-fiction and Hamilton and Eliza!

What mug are you using right now? And what are you currently reading?

Ooh, I need to read that book! I LOVE Hamilton, and have seen the musical twice now (in Chicago and London) 🙂 I also got a tattoo on my last trip that says “Inimitable” (from Wait for it <3). Thank you for the tip!

What a great mug, love the color. Right now I’m reading “How to lose everything” by a Colombian author. The book that you are reading right now seems pretty interesting!

I LOVE the idea of doing a “mug of the month” post! I have way too many mugs that just don’t get a chance to be used, but they would with a fun challenge like this ☺️
