Disney mug of the Month: RunDisney

RunDisney mug - Disney in your Day

When I went to Disney World for the marathon I was really hoping there would be a marathon mug that I could buy.  Sadly there was not, though I did get a travel mug.  They had a 2017 RunDisney mug but since it wasn’t marathon specific I wasn’t sure if I wanted it.  After thinking about it I decided that I did, but I didn’t want to go back to the expo.  Luckily at the Princess expo last month they had these mugs again, so I was able to pick one up!

The mug is simple on a black background, but I like it.  For the 2017 generic RunDisney merchandise they went with a nice light blue (last year’s color was red).  It has a big Mickey head on it with the RunDisney logo and the phrase “every mile is magic.”  Then in the left ear it says “RunDisney 2017,” so at least I have the year of the marathon!  There’s also a blue rim around the edge that adds a little bit of extra style.

What’s in my cup:  Right now I can’t get enough of the Kona Coffee I received in my Gifts from Mickey box.  It’s delicious and reminds me of being in Disney.  Plus it’s definitely been a lot of coffee mornings (and afternoons!) recently.  I started rehearsals for Chicago and I have rehearsals for the cabaret fundraiser show I’m in.  So between that, working full time, trying to keep a running schedule, and writing for the blog, sleep has been a little bit less lately!  Especially this morning – I did the 10:30pm showing of Beauty and the Beast because I had rehearsal til 9, and while it was fabulous I didn’t get home til 1 am!

What I’m reading:  I’m about 2/3 of the way through As Old As Time, by Liz Braswell.  It’s a twisted take on Beauty and the Beast.  It started out slow, as a lot of it felt like just a re-telling of the movie.  But then we reached a point where things change and the plot takes a different course, and I’m definitely getting into it a lot more.  The main “twist” is that the enchantress who cursed the Beast is actually Belle’s mother – and Belle starts to feel a strong obligation to help break the spell because of that.  I’ll probably put a full review up once I’ve finished it!

What’s in your mug this month?  And have you read any good books recently?

Do you think you’ll ever run another marathon?

Probably not for a couple of years but maybe. This one felt so crazy with everything else that was going on, I felt like I couldn’t truly enjoy finishing the way I wanted to because I got sick right after. I’d have to find another year where the timing for training is right (like when I’m not planning to do a fall show!)

That is the cutest mug! I have NEVER been to a Disney park before, but I think I might try to plan a trip for my 40th birthday. Better late than never, right?

I really love that new mug! I like the simple graphics and the blue design. I haven’t read this book yet, but it sounds wonderful. I’m looking forward to the new Beauty and the Beast movie!

Whoa! That story sounds so interesting. I usually had when stories do twists on an original, but that actually sounds kind of cool!
