I love the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. And I love the orange bird. So I have to tell you I was really excited when I saw that so much of this year’s Flower and Garden merchandise featured my little orange bird! I may have purchased almost all of it. Including a mug. I mean, mug + orange bird + Flower and Garden? That has Becky written all over it!
I also like mugs which have a unique look to them or do something clever, rather than just being a regular mug with a design slapped on it. This one definitely has a fun vibe to it as it’s shaped like a flower pot! In addition to the orange bird on one side, the mug also has Mickey on the other side picking oranges with the phrase “fresh picked from Florida.” Pluto’s hanging out there too!
And finally, in the middle of the mug – that big orange that Mickey’s reaching for? Oh hey, it’s a hidden Mickey Mickey made of three oranges!
What’s in my cup: Drinking my Expedition Roasters Skipper Brew. I know not everyone is a fan of banana flavored coffee but I really like it! Jason bought a bunch of bananas and then didn’t eat them, so they were hanging around our house and everything was smelling like bananas anyway, so I figured the coffee would go with the scent. And then I baked some banana bread to go with it!
What I’m currently reading: So technically I just finished this, but I really enjoyed it so I wanted to be able to mention it on the blog! The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue was a really excellent young adult novel that is full of adventure, humor, emotional moments, and touching romance. The book centers around Monty, who comes from a rich, well bred family in the 18th century – yet at 18 years old he’s already basically an alcoholic and likes to spend the night with both men and women. He’s being sent on a tour of Europe before he’s forced to settle down and run the family estate, and he’s joined by his best friend Percy and his sister Felicity. And then their adventures went in fun and exciting directions that I totally didn’t expect but I was hooked the whole time. If you like historical fiction, adventure, great characters, or young adult novels I highly recommend it.
