I had been wanting this mug for awhile, so I was really excited when I finally got it, thanks to my Pixie Dust Pal! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, and Chip is just too cute – so when they came out with a ceramic Chip mug, it went on my wish list right away. And now that I’m right in the middle of rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast the musical, it feels like an appropriate time to be using my Chip mug!
He’s adorable, with his face captured just how it looks in the film. He even has the little “chip” on the side. But don’t worry, it’s not an actual chip in the teacup – it’s just painted on, with an indentation to make it look like a chip.
What’s in my cup: Is it sacrilege to drink coffee out of Chip instead of tea? Hopefully he doesn’t mind, because the second half of June is definitely all about coffee to be able to survive. As a children’s librarian we’ve started summer reading and the library has been pretty insane with lots to do and tons of kids coming in! Add in Beauty and the Beast rehearsals that are going past 10pm some nights, and tea just isn’t enough. I’m drinking my Kona coffee right now from Joffrey’s in honor of booking a breakfast reservation at Kona Cafe for August!
What I’m currently reading: When I was at the Public Library Association conference a few months ago I was able to pick up a ton of advance copies of books, including this Beauty and the Beast twist called Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge. I’m about halfway through it right now and I have to say I’m not really sure I’m a fan. It’s very, very dark – not appropriate at all for kids. And aside from that, the action seems to be moving really slowly. I’m going to keep going and finish it, but there are other Beauty and the Beast retellings/twists that I like much better.
What’s in your cup right now? And what are you currently reading?
