I happen to have gotten a couple of new mugs recently, which means we are all set for our next couple of mug of the month posts! I’m starting to think I’ll never run out 😉 While my mug this month is new, it’s a little bit of a throwback to a past Disney event – when I ran the Walt Disney World marathon in 2017.
I didn’t want to buy a ton of merchandise at the expo, because at the time I wasn’t confident I would be able to do the marathon. But of course I wanted a mug! They didn’t have a marathon specific mug though. They had a “marathon weekend” mug and a RunDisney mug, so I got the RunDisney 2017 mug to commemorate my marathon in mug form. Fast forward a year, and we accidentally put the mug into the dishwasher. As much as I love Disney mugs, they aren’t always made super well and the designs don’t last in the dishwasher, which is what happened with this one. I searched on ebay and posted in facebook groups to try and find a replacement, but no luck.
Then I found someone who custom made mugs, and asked her if she could design a mug from the 2017 marathon. Sure enough, she did! I love it, and it’s more specific to the marathon than my RunDisney mug was anyway. It has the marathon logo from that year and the mug is sparkly blue and red to match the logo.
On the back it’s even customized specifically to me, and includes my bib number from the marathon. Plus it’s an insulated mug and also has a lid, so it works well as a travel mug.
What’s in my cup: I’ve been finishing up some of the current flavors of coffee I have from Expedition Roasters, like the Enchanted Tiki Coconut. I think I’ll have to buy some new flavors soon – I’m eyeing the Redhead Rum in honor of the new Redhead scene on Pirates of the Caribbean!
What I’m currently reading: I’m actually listening to it on audiobook, but I’ve been working my way through Harry Potter again! I’m on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and it just reminds me how much I love this series. The 6th book reminds me how much I love Dumbledore. He’s brilliant, compassionate, but also funny and sassy. I’m also reminded that Harry drives me crazy sometimes, especially with his obsession with Draco Malfoy in this one. Even though it turns out that he’s right about a lot of things, he still does a lot of stupid things too.
What are you currently reading? And what’s in your mug this month?
I just finished reading Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. I picked it up at the library because I loved To Kill a Mockingbird. (Go Set a Watchman is the sequel that was finally released before her death.) It was pretty good but I still prefer To Kill A Mockingbird. I related better to Scout as a child than her as an adult.
Oh, that mug looks awesome!!! I’m currently reading The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-time (they did an amazing theatre adaptation here in London recently), andin my mug there’s a lovely blend of coffee that my parents sent me from my hometown Rome 😀 <3
Cute mug! I’m currently reading so many books. I have a problem where I get half way through and then start a new book and then throughout the year re-visit the old books. Haha!
