I only allowed myself to buy one mug this past Disney trip, and after much debate I decided to go with this Tree of Life mug from Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is my favorite park, and this is such a cool looking mug. I thought it would be the perfect one to feature in the month of April, due to both Earth Day and Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary this weekend!
This is also one of those times where I can tell you that blogging, or at least blog photography, can be a lie. Doesn’t this mug look great against the backdrop of green grass? Can’t you just imagine me sipping my coffee outside on a gorgeous spring day from this mug? Well, it’s still somehow about 40 degrees in the morning here in Pennsylvania. So I bundled up, took the shots, and then hustled myself back inside to drink my coffee where it’s actually warm. Fun times.
If you’ve ever taken the time to really look at the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom, you’ve probably noticed all of the intricate details on it. There are tons of animals built into the trunk and the branches. You can walk the Discovery Island trails to get up closer to it and see it, and it’s really gorgeous. This mug captures lots of the animals that appear on the tree, and it’s a nice big mug for lots of coffee!
What’s in my cup: So much coffee. I’ve been feeling more tired than ever lately and I have so much to get done. It’s getting overwhelming. This week I’m favoring my Jiko blend from Joffrey’s. Since it’s an Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurant it seems fitting to put in my Animal Kingdom cup!
What I’m currently reading: Super exciting news for me is that I finally bought a new camera! My old DSLR was from 2005, so I was more than due for an upgrade. Everyone always said to me “it’s not the camera that matters, it’s what you do with it.” And while that may be true to an extent, there’s a reason why there’s a variety of cameras out there with different price points. I just started playing around with it this morning, and I can already see a big quality difference, as well as lots of new features that I can’t wait to make sure of. To be sure that I’m learning to use it correctly I also purchased the Dummies guide to this camera. I think it will be a great tool to learn all about what I can really do with it and take my photography to the next level.
What’s in your cup? And what are you currently reading?
I love this mug! My favorite part of Animal Kingdom is the trail near the tree where you can see so many of the carvings.
