The mug I’m drinking out of this month is a new one from my most recent trip to Disney and a gift from my Pixie Dust Pal! While walking around the parks I was checking out all the merchandise, and when I saw this Finding Dory mug I said, “If I was going to buy any mug this trip it would be that one.” And then I actually got it as a gift a day later!
If you’ve seen Finding Dory then you totally get why it’s a picture of Dory in a coffee pot. And if you haven’t, well – the blu-ray/DVD should be coming out soon so make sure you see it! It’s a unique shape for a mug and I like that it’s something a little different. And Disney is so good at the details – Dory is on both sides of the mug, but she looks slightly different in each picture.
What’s in my cup: This month I’ve got some new k-cups from Green Mountain coffee. This kind is called Island Coconut and it’s perfect for summer. It feels tropical and the coconut flavor is a great pick-me-up every morning when I need to start the day. Plus it smells amazing!
What I’m reading: So I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the new play that is being referred to as the “eighth Harry Potter story.” You may not know this but I’m a pretty huge Harry Potter fan. I’ve probably read the series 25 times. At one point I was more into Harry Potter than Disney! So this book was a big deal for me. I know a lot of people plan to read it so I won’t spoil anything, but I will say I was slightly disappointed in it. The book did not feel like the same Harry Potter stories we know and love.
What’s in your mug this morning? And what are you currently reading?
This is such a cute design for a mug since it’s a direct nod to the movie!
I agree, I love that it looks like it came right out of the movie!
I love how the mug is modeled after the coffee pot! I guess your husband has lost the battle against mugs 😛 ?
I’ve actually never read any HP book or seen any HP movie in my life.
Haha yeah, my husband has given up on the mugs. Now he’s telling me not to buy so much clothing 😉
… Read the Harry Potter books. lol seriously some of my favorite books ever (and this is coming from a librarian who reads a lot!). I kind of “grew up” with Harry so they will always be really special to me, but I think the original 7 are great stories. This new one, eh.
I love coffee, and so does my 2 year old ahhh, and she LOVES Nemo and Dory! I need a smaller matching plastic one for her and then we can be mommy and me twins!
Aww that would be so cute! They should definitely make a version for kids!
OH MY GOSH!!!!! This is the most adorable thing! LOVE IT!
International Delight has a chocolate/hazelnut creamer out now through the holidays. Try that with your coconut coffee. I bet it would be fantastic!
Oh, that sounds delicious! I actually need to buy more creamer this week anyway so I will be on the lookout for that!
Love the mug! And agree about HP, but I think it’s due to the fact that it’s a script and so much in a script is left out to be filled in by the actors/set/lights/all that jazz. Hopefully the play comes to America!
I do hope the play comes to America as well. I did write a much more detailed review on GoodReads, but as someone who does theater I still feel like a script (especially one based on such an amazing story!) should be able to stand on its own even without being performed. But I can only imagine all of the amazing special effects they must have when it’s on stage!
The mug is so cute! Sad to hear you were disappointed in the new HP. There was definitely a noticeable difference but I love the way they handled the plot!
Yeah, I definitely found it entertaining but not at the same level of quality as the original Harry Potter series. Like I said, I was “slightly” disappointed haha. I still enjoyed reading it!
Such a cute mug! I love Dory!

Me too! She’s one of the best Pixar characters!
I love your mug! The shape is so cool, and Dory is so cute. My boys would love it.
