Week 21 of marathon training. The marathon is about 1.5 months away. Which also means my Disney trip is in a month and a half. But honestly, I don’t know if I’m excited or nervous to be going this time! I slacked a little bit this week and only did 1 of my short runs instead of 2. I was at work until 8 or 9 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because we had a lot of programs, so it was kind of hard to fit anything in.
The long run this week was 7 miles. This one worked out pretty well – though next week it’s on to 23 miles. I’m going to be on Long Island visiting family for this one. My dad has kindly offered to come up with a route and draw me a map since I don’t know the area as well – he promises it will be a good route!
My one short run I managed to squeeze in Wednesday morning, before my voice lesson and then going to work. I went to the gym and did it on the treadmill. It wasn’t a great one but I got it done and then stopped at Wawa for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. So at least I had that to look forward to after my run!
My 7 mile run I did on Friday and I couldn’t have asked for better weather. Despite it being the middle of November it was about 65 degrees out. I didn’t expect to be wearing a tank top but I’m certainly not complaining as it was literally the perfect weather for running! I tried to slow it down to keep closer to marathon pace and finished my 7 miles feeling really good. Hopefully that’s a positive sign for next week!
The upcoming week should be fun with both a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning and my 23 miler that weekend! Wish me luck!
