WDW marathon training – week 15

Recapping my marathon training from week 15!  I doubt many people really care but if I don’t post I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold myself accountable and I’ll allow myself to skip runs, and I don’t want to do that.  This was an easier week, requiring the two short runs and then one longer 4 mile run.

week15

On Monday of last week I didn’t have to be in at work until 1 o’clock, so I took my run in the morning.  It was pretty nice weather and an okay run.  Not one of those that felt great but not terrible either.

Thursday I did my second short run after work at Valley Forge park.  Despite the hills the weather was nice and it was a good run.  They re-opened the trail I usually take so I was glad about that!

I ended up doing the 4 mile run on Sunday at the gym.  We were busy on both Friday (a wedding) and Saturday (working all day followed by going to see a theater performance), so Sunday it was.  And Sunday ended up being a little rainy and very, very windy, so I opted for the treadmill.  My goal is to try and keep my shorter runs under an 11 min/mile pace so I succeeded!

The next week will be interesting.  The short runs are not difficult but hard to fit in with my new work schedule.  For a long run I’m supposed to do 17 miles – but I’m also running the Hershey half marathon this weekend.  So my plan right now is to run the 13.1, finish, and then run 4 more miles afterward as soon as I possibly can (hopefully right after I finish, just kind of keep going, but if not once I get home).  Wish me luck!

About Me

Hi, I'm Becky!

I'm a huge Disney fan in my early 30's and always trying to find a way to put a little bit of Disney into everyday life. I live in Pennsylvania but travel to the theme parks several times a year - I'm an annual passholder at Disney World! In addition to Disney I love traveling, running, and theater.
