Who’s ready to go to the movies? Disney has a lot of exciting titles coming out in 2020, and I’m excited to see most of them. In fact, I’d say there’s probably only 2 on this list that I won’t end up seeing in theaters.
Onward (March 6th)
Definitely looking forward to this one, as I think the voice cast which includes Chris Pratt and Tom Holland is very promising. And glad to see more original stories coming from Pixar rather than sequels.
Mulan (March 27th)
This live action Mulan looks pretty cool from the previews I’ve seen so far. No music like the animated one though which is a little bit of a downer.
Black Widow (May 1st)
Finally, after all this time, Black Widow gets her own movie. The preview looked interesting so I’m hoping it will be a good one.
Artemis Fowl (May 29th)
This was supposed to come out in 2019 but it got pushed back a year. I read the book and it wasn’t my favorite, but it might make a better movie. I’m a little nervous since it was delayed though.
Soul (June 19th)
Okay, this is the movie I am most excited for this year! It looks great. It has a very Inside Out feel to it, which is my favorite Pixar movie. Can’t wait to see this one.
Jungle Cruise (July 24th)
Not sure how I feel about this one. It’s got the Rock, which is good, but I’m not totally sure about the concept yet.
The One and Only Ivan (August 14th)
I haven’t seen a movie poster for this one yet but here’s the book cover. It’s a great book and the kids at my library really enjoy it, so I’m hopeful it will be a good movie as well.
The Eternals (November 6th)
This movie is getting a lot of buzz, and it will probably be the big Marvel hit of the year. It certainly sounds promising.
Raya and the Last Dragon (November 25th)
Yay, a new original animated movie from Disney! We don’t have a ton of info about it yet, but the title at least sounds exciting.
In addition, there are also these titles being released by Fox, which Disney now owns: Underwater (1/10/20), Call of the Wild (2/21/20), Wendy (2/28/20), The New Mutants (4/3/20), Antlers (4/17/20), the Personal History of David Copperfield (5/8/20), The Woman in the Window (5/15/20), Free Guy (7/3/20), Bob’s Burgers (7/17/20), Empty Man (8/7/20), The King’s Man (9/18/20), Death on the Nile (10/9/20), West Side Story (12/18/20).
Which upcoming Disney movies of 2020 are you most looking forward to?
Wow! I didn’t realize Disney was making so many movies this year! I’m glad they’re making an original animated one. I hope it’s good.
