The expo for the Tower of Terror 10 miler took place this year on Friday, October 3rd from 10:00am-7:00pm, and Saturday, October 4th from 8:30am-3:00 pm. My friend and I headed there first thing on Friday morning, and we arrived at the ESPN Wide World of Sports around 9:40 or so. They were already letting people in and it wasn’t too crowded yet, so that was an awesome bonus!
The first thing we did was go to pick up our race bib packets at the HP Field House. We handed in our waivers and showed our id’s. When I got my bib I had an awesome surprise! According to my waiver I was supposed to be in corral H, the second to last one, which did not match with my expected finish time. I had emailed them but they told me there was nothing they could do to change it. However, when I picked up my bib there was an “E” sticker put on top of my corral! I was so excited to see that. On the downside, I had pre-ordered a pin that they didn’t have a record of, but we tracked it down eventually.
Then it was over to the Jostens Center to really check out the expo and the booths! We stopped to get our t-shirts first, which were nice tech shirts. In our bag we also got a Clif shot blok packet, which is awesome for me since that’s my fuel of choice.
There were a ton of exhibitors at the expo, so we took some time walking around and looking at it all. Run Disney had their own large section, which wasn’t too crowded when we went through – but half an hour later it was crazy! Some of my favorite vendors were there, including (just to name a few): Bondi Band, FlipBelt, Milestone Sports Jewelry, One More Mile, Raw Threads, Sparkle Skirts, Sparkly Soul, Sweaty Bands, Roosport, and Yurbuds.
I was especially excited when I walked past the booth for One More Mile and saw the shirt slogan that I had suggested for the contest (and won), displayed up top! Will Run to Dole Whip 🙂
I’ve purchased a lot of running things recently, so I didn’t buy too much here. I drooled over a lot of the Raw Threads stuff and wished I could afford it all. The only thing I ended up purchasing was a sweaty band. I was looking for a cute one to go with my Alice costume, and I found a black sparkly one with a small bow that was perfect!
Have you been to a Run Disney expo? What’s your favorite booth?
And the “Will run for Dole Whip” shirt was orange!
