Normally starting a new year is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s a time to reflect on all the positives of the past year and create new goals to try and make the next year an even better one. This year it’s a little tough to look forward, not knowing what will happen with our cat Merlin yet. Trying to stay positive regardless.
And despite the negatives at the end of the year, I have a whole lot in 2016 to be thankful for. I trained for a marathon, got promoted to a full time job I love, traveled to Europe, self-published a book, and got the lead in a musical. I am beyond fortunate for all of those things, but even beyond that I am so lucky to have a hobby that I love (blogging) and amazing readers who support me!
I love looking back at my top 10 posts for the year – it helps me know what was popular with my readers, and I like to share it to give people a chance to check it out in case they missed it earlier! So here are my top 10 posts from 2016. Some were published this year, and some go quite a ways back.
This was my top post last year, and my top post this year as well. I love being able to provide a resource for anyone interested in Disney subscription boxes. For next year I’d like to get more updated reviews too!
2. What to do the week before you leave for Disney
I’ve found that I have a routine for what I do before a Disney trip, and it helps to write it down. I figured it might help others as well, and I think that’s the case! I’ve been referencing this post myself this week since I leave for Disney on Thursday!
3. Ways to brighten the day of any Disney cast member
This was a guest post written by Lisa, who recently rebranded her blog so that it’s now called Fjords and Beaches. She has some really interesting perspective from being a Disney cast member. CMs do an amazing job, so this post is a great way to show them how much we appreciate what they do.
4. How to visit Disney World for under $2500
This one I actually published at the end of 2015 but it really took off this year. I wanted to show that it’s possible to take an affordable trip to Disney – you just can’t be too demanding or expect to stay deluxe, etc. Because I put my travel agent email in this post it really helped with that business too.
5. Dole Whip recipe
This one goes back to the beginning of 2015 and remains a blog favorite. Which isn’t surprising – what Disney fan wouldn’t want to make dole whip in their own home?
6. Mickey Monthly subscription box review
Since my subscription box page is the #1 page on my blog, it’s not surprising that a review of one of these boxes made the list. Mickey Monthly is probably the best one out there, and this is the review of the first box I got. I’ve since done other reviews that I highly recommend checking out to get a better idea of what their more recent stuff is like.
7. Running Gear Guide
This one goes back to 2014, but I’m happy to see it stick around for so long. I myself can’t get enough Disney running stuff for my races, and I like sharing that with others!
8. Best Breakfasts at Walt Disney World
This one was only published in May 2016, so I’m excited to see it get enough attention to make the list! Disney World breakfasts are tons of fun, and these are my favorites.
9. How to afford a Disney cruise
I can totally relate to people who love to travel, but also want to save money. That’s why I put together some tips on how to afford a Disney cruise.
10. Top 25 Disney shirts on Etsy
I’m kind of addicted to Etsy, as there are so many amazing artists on there who have awesome Disney designs. I can’t get enough, and apparently my readers can’t either. This one was published at the end of August and still got enough pageviews to make the top 10!
What was your favorite blog post on Disney in your Day this past year?
I’m so happy my guest post is on this list! You have some great & helpful posts and articles here, Becky! Keep up the good work 🙂
