Throwback Thursday: Family

August 6, 2015 by Becky 8 Comments

This month’s throwback Thursday theme is family!  So I thought I would share some pics of all of the trips I’ve taken with my family.

1997

1997 was my very first trip to Disney World.  I was 9 years old.  It was during the 25th anniversary, when the castle was a big pink birthday cake.  I took this trip with my Mom, Dad, and younger brother.  This shot at Sci-Fi dine inis the only pic we still have with all 4 of us in it – makes me very thankful for photopass!  This is the only time my brother has been to Disney World – I’m still working on getting him back there with me!  Maybe for a Star Wars weekend 😉

2005

In 2005 I returned to the World with my dad for a father/daughter trip.  My dad and I are definitely the travelers in the family, and when my mom and brother didn’t express much interest in going, we went alone!  I was 17.

2011

My first trip to Disney World with my new “family” – my honeymoon with my husband!  It was our first time visiting the World together and it’s probably the best trip I’ve ever taken.

2013

This trip brought my parents back to Disney with my husband and myself.  Though my dad had gone in 2005, my mom hadn’t been since 1997 and a lot had changed!  We had so much fun, especially eating our way around the World Showcase during the Flower and Garden festival.

So much fun! I want to go back to Disney so bad 🙁 I was 15 when we went and can’t wait to do it again some day! Probably not until I have my own kids.

Oooohh, brilliant! A Disney blog. Will be following.

What did you think of the 25th birthday cake castle? People hated it.

I was 9 at the time and I remember seeing it and thinking it was so cool! But I don’t even think I really knew what it was supposed to look like normally, lol.

So who took the picture of us in the SciFi Dine-in? Oh, and I think your father is wearing the same shirt for two of the photos. 🙂

I haven’t been since I was 7 and my husband has never been! I can’t wait until our daughter is a little older so we can make this trip 🙂

About Me

Hi, I'm Becky!

I'm a huge Disney fan in my early 30's and always trying to find a way to put a little bit of Disney into everyday life. I live in Pennsylvania but travel to the theme parks several times a year - I'm an annual passholder at Disney World! In addition to Disney I love traveling, running, and theater.
