The best and worst of Stitch Fix

best and worst of Stitch Fix - Disney in your Day

A year ago, I will admit that my wardrobe was not the most fashionable.  It wasn’t bad, I just had my basics that I always went to.  Then I decided to try Stitch Fix. I’ve been getting it for over a year now and I really think my fashion sense has improved.

Out of the items I decided to keep, there are some real winners that I wear all the time and absolutely love.  And then there were also some things that once I had them in my closet, just didn’t end up working out for me.  I thought I’d go back over the past year and share my favorite and least favorite Stitch Fix items!  The “worst” items don’t include any that I sent back, just ones that I kept and then ended up not loving.  So here they are: the best and worst of Stitch Fix!

The Best

Skies are Blue cardigan – Fix #4

stitch fix skies are blue

I love this cardigan.  The color is fun and it’s so comfy.  I wear it at least once a week.  A great investment!

Benny Tiered Swing Skirt – Fix #1

stitch fix 5

This is a great skirt from my first fix that works for going to my job or just wearing out.  With the black and white pattern you can match it with almost any color top.  Plus it’s one of the cheapest stitch fix items I’ve ever had!  I get compliments almost every time I wear it.

Abie Faux Wrap Dress – Fix #8

Abie Faux Wrap Dress – $68

This dress came from my latest fix and I’m really happy with it.  I’ve already worn it once, to a baby shower, and I look forward to wearing it again!

Le Sample Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank – Fix #6

stitch fix 3

This tank is perfect for summer, and I wore it a bunch of times.  It was great for being active in too – I wore it to dance rehearsals a couple of times, and I wore it on my vacation to California.  It was also one of the more reasonably priced Stitch Fix items.

The Worst

Pixley Abrianna waffle knit cardigan – Fix #4

I still really love the style and color of this sweater.  However, one thing I noted when I decided to keep it was that the sleeves were a little tight.  Well, every time I go to wear it I put it on and I’m like, “eh, this is a little uncomfortable” and I take it back off.  So not a good choice to keep on my part.

Kirkwood Mini Dot Crew Neck Sweater – Fix #2

Kirkwood Mini Dot Crew Neck Sweater

The sweater is cute but I have two issues with it – the first is how it’s so see-through.  I thought I’d be okay just wearing a tank underneath, but you can see every outline of the tank I just don’t like how that looks with the cut of this sweater.  The other is that it’s white, and white and I don’t mix well.  I’ve already spilled on this sweater twice, and I’ve probably only worn it twice.

Filbert 3/4 Sleeve Popover Blouse – Fix #2

Filbert Sleeve Popover Blouse

I obviously made poor choices about what to keep in my second fix.  I discovered after wearing it once or twice that it was a little tight in the chest area, and did weird things when I raised my arms above my head.  I actually already gave this shirt away, so it’s not even in my closet anymore.

Thanks! Their stylists try to match your style, and while I think they’ve been pretty good at my style some of the things don’t always fit perfectly.

I’ve definitely had some issues with stitchfix. My first one, they send me an amazing drop waist dress that I loved, and I realized about a month after I got it that it was super unflattering on my lower half. 🙁 The downfalls of not having more time to decide.

Yeah, 3 days can be tough to make a decision and sometimes I like something at first but then realize I won’t wear it! At least with most stores you usually have at least 30 days to return something, whereas you can’t here.

I really like all the things you’ve gotten! I’ve never done any sort of clothing subscription box, but you are convincing me!

Thanks! I think they’re definitely worth at least trying out – with Stitch Fix even if you hate everything it’s a $20 experience, but I’ve always found at least 1 item I’ve liked enough to keep (and usually more!).

It’s too bad they don’t all work out! But I guess that’s good on your wallet. I like your pics. That coral cardigan is so pretty!

That black and white skirt is adorable. It’s too bad that the purple pop over shirt didn’t quite fit right because you look great in that color!

I’ve thought about trying this. I’m not a shopper (in store) so maybe being mailed to me would help!

I feel the same way. I always say I’m going to go clothes shopping but then I never feel like dragging myself to the store and actually trying everything on.

I love the polka dot sweater, but agree. It is very see-through. However, a tank top underneath might fix that issue!

Yeah – this pic was even with a white tank underneath, though I found a black one works a little better!
