Stitch Fix Review – October 2015

Stitch FIx Review - Disney in your Day

The other day my Stitch Fix arrived! Stitch Fix is a subscription box service that has you fill out a style profile survey, and then they send you 5 clothing items to try on – you decide what to keep and what to send back!

For the first time I had a different stylist.  Julie, my usual stylist, was on vacation, so Alisa filled in.  She looked at my Pinterest board and for the most part really got my style down well.  I could have used a little more color but I was very happy with the fix overall!

Minton Crew Neck Blouse – $48

Minton Crew Neck Blouse – $48

I loved the look and style of this top out of the box.  It was the most colorful thing I received this month, and I love color and fun patterns so I expected this to be my favorite!  Unfortunately, the fit was not great.  While I could get it on, it was very tight in the chest area – if I tried to raise my arms the shirt lifted up awkwardly, and it was very difficult to get off.  If it had fit properly it definitely would be a keeper!  Returned.

Kennidy Dolman Knit Top – $54

Oh, dolman tops.  Sometimes I think I really like them and sometimes I don’t.  I would like to own one to wear occasionally, but have yet to find one that is the right fit.  This one was just too big all over.  I also feel like I’d prefer a dolman in a short sleeve variety, rather than the long sleeve.  The shirt was so loose.  The color was pretty though, and the material was so soft and comfortable.  Returned.

Caspian Scallop Trim Cardigan – $68

Caspian Scallop Trim Cardigan – $68

I’ve gone back and forth on this cardigan so much.  It’s $68!  That’s way too much for a cardigan!  On the other hand, I wear cardigans all year round, so when I find one that’s a good fit I know I will get a ton of use out of it.  Also, it’s thick which is nice for winter coming up and I don’t own a navy blue one.  Kept (probably).

Grove Lace Panel Knit Top – $48

Grove Lace Panel Knit Top – $48

I loved the detailing on this top, especially the lace.  It’s so gorgeous!  And if the rest of the shirt was as good as the top part I would have kept it.  Unfortunately, the area around the stomach was pretty boxy and I didn’t feel it was super flattering.  It was also pretty short and had slits in the side, so I felt like if I wore it I’d be revealing skin when/where I didn’t want to.  Returned.

Abie Faux Wrap Dress – $68

Abie Faux Wrap Dress – $68

I love, love this dress!  It fits perfectly and is just the type of style I prefer!  It shows a bit too much cleavage for work, but if I threw a tank top underneath I think it would serve well both as something for work and date nights/going out.  Plus it’s got the 3/4 length sleeves and would be versatile for many seasons – add some leggings, boots, and a cardigan and I can wear it through the winter!  Kept.

I really liked my fix this month, and I just wish that everything fit well enough for me to keep!  I’ve learned though that if it isn’t a perfect fit, I won’t reach for it in my closet so there’s no point in keeping it.

If you’re interested in signing up for your own Fix, I would love it if you’d use my referral link – it would give me a $25 credit to use on a future fix, and doesn’t cost you anything.  I used a friend’s link when I signed up for mine so I could help her out, so I know it’s much appreciated!

I LOVE the dress on you. So pretty! Definitely a keeper. I also really like the cardigan, and I think the lace top looked really nice on you. However, if you didn’t feel comfortable, you probably wouldn’t wear it. Thanks for sharing your cool stuff!

Thank you! I really wanted to keep the lace top but it was just short for me – when I put my arms up all the way it would show some tummy and I hate when shirts do that – I prefer long ones 😉

Loved your fix! Even tho they may not have fit, they were at least adorable! The last fix I got was terrible so I put my service on hold.

You looked adorable in all of the pieces my dear!

Thank you! If you ever decide to try Stitch Fix again, maybe request a certain stylist – my usual one Julie is very good, and Alisa who did this one picked out some great things!

These are fun! I love that cardigan too, and would be so tempted to keep it, but I don’t think I could spend that much on it. I love love love the first top – it’s too bad it doesn’t fit right!

Yeah, the only way I was able to “justify” it in my mind was the fact that someone used my link to sign up for Stitch Fix so I had a $25 credit! So I put that towards the cardigan. And the first top I actually requested in my next fix in a bigger size so hopefully they’ll have it and send it!
