Since I was getting this Fix before the D23 Expo and my Disneyland trip, I gave my stylist, Julie, a bit of a challenge – picking out some dresses and outfits that I could maybe use for Disney Bounding! Â Anything that might remind her of a Disney character would be welcome. Â I was excited to see what she picked out, and while everything was unfortunately not an ideal fit, I loved all of the styles and creative ideas she had. Â Julie is awesome.
If you’re not familiar, Stitch Fix is a subscription box service that has you fill out a style profile survey, and then they send you 5 clothing items to try on – you decide what to keep and what to send back!
SKIES ARE BLUE Kacie Dress – $68
The first dress she sent was a vivid green and she suggested using it for a Disgust outfit from Inside Out.  I really liked the color, and the dress was pretty – the back was especially fun.  Unfortunately I didn’t like how it fit in the front.  It just seemed really baggy in the chest area.  I seem to have this problem a lot with dresses that have an elastic waist.  People say that it looks okay but it bothers me, and at the end of the day I’m the one who has to like the dress!  So while I did send this one back, I loved Julie’s idea of doing a Disgust outfit so much that I bought a different green dress to use for a Disney Bound.
COLETTE Â Mali Skirt – $44
This skirt was pretty.  It was definitely my style.  I wasn’t totally in love with the pattern but I did like the bright colors.  However, it just felt a little bit too much like many other items I already have.  I probably have about 4-5 skirts this same exact style in different patterns, and I got a gorgeous skirt in a busy pattern from my May Stitch Fix that I absolutely love.  So while there was nothing really wrong with this one, it just didn’t call out to me so I sent it back.
41HAWTHORN Keziah Shirt Dress – $48
I loved, loved the color and pattern of this dress.  And it was a great price too!  The biggest downfall was that it had the same problem as the first dress in this fix, and that was the elastic waistband.  I just don’t seem to feel comfortable in those types of dresses, so unfortunately this one went back as well.
KAILEIGH Annabelle Knit Dress – $58
Julie suggested this adorable dress for a Minnie Mouse inspired look, perhaps with some red accessories.  And while that could work I already have a pretty great Minnie Disney Bound.  However, this dress totally screams 1950’s Disneyland to me.  If I ever get to attend a Dapper Day it would be absolutely perfect.  In fact, I ended up wearing it for my day in the parks for Disneyland’s 62nd birthday!  When I tried it on it fit perfectly.  I was absolutely in love and knew this dress would be a total keeper.  Love, love, love it!
GILLI Ryland 2fer Maxi Dress – $78
I’ve recently been getting more into maxi dresses so I was excited to see this pretty one in the box.  Julie said it reminded her of Anna from Frozen, and she was so right.  The colors are absolutely perfect for it.  And while the dress was very pretty, it just didn’t fit me quite right.  The way it draped on the top made it an awkward fit over my bust, and the skirt part was a bit too long.  I was a bit sad to send this one back, but unfortunately I did.
Overall I thought Julie did a fantastic job of sending me some Disney inspired clothing and I’m so thrilled with the one dress that I kept!  I hope she up for another challenge like this in the future because I’d love to see what else she can send my way.  I’m becoming a bit obsessed with Disney Bounding lately!
If you’re interested in signing up for your own Fix, I would love it if you’d use my referral link – it would give me a $25 credit to use on a future fix, and doesn’t cost you anything. I used a friend’s link when I signed up for mine so I could help her out, so I know it’s much appreciated!

What was your favorite thing in my Stitch Fix box this time around?
Love these dresses! My fav is the polka dot one that’s your minnie mouse outfit 🙂
Thanks, that was my favorite too!
The polka dot dress looks SO good on you, I can see why you kept it!
Thank you, I was very happy with it!
Go back and order that last dress (the maxi one)! You say that it does not fit you right, but it looks to me like it was made for you! Gorgeous! It is a little too long, but you could hem it. It’s a very flattering fit.
Haha maybe I will see if they can send it back! A lot of people have said positive things about it.
I agree with you about the elastic waist dresses. You look good in anything, but other styles look better. The polka dot dress is so cute and fits you great! I liked the maxi dress a lot but although it looks good to me, I can understand when a piece of clothing just doesn’t feel right.
Yeah, the elastic waist style is just not the best for me, hopefully I can get them to stop sending those.
Your stylist did a great job picking out dresses for you. I really like the polka dot one and the mali skirt.
Thanks, Julie really did a wonderful job!
Wow! I love these dresses you have! You also have a ton of awesome comments from your other reviews as well! I really love the maxi dress and polka dot dress on you–they’re both stunning!
Thank you! I’ve been very lucky to have an awesome stylist who does a great job of picking out stuff for me!
I LOVED that you challenged your stylist to do this and it was so fun to see what she came up with. The green dress actually reminded me of the Little Mermaid for some reason and the maxi dress is totally an Anna thing!
I could totally see the green dress with a purple sweater over it to do a Little Mermaid Disney Bound, that would be very cute!
What a fun challenge for your stylist! I LOVE all the thought she put into these picks. That Minnie Mouse dress was my absolutely favorite! I definitely thought of MM the minute I saw it. 🙂
It works really well for Minnie – I wore it to the parks that one day and my friend wore her red polka dot dress so we were complementing each other!
The polka dot dress looks great on you! The stylist also had a good find with the Anna dress.
I have the same issue as you with elastic waists on dresses.
Thank you! It’s funny, it took me awhile to actually realize it was the elastic waist band that made so many dresses feel like they were just not my style.
