For this month’s Stitch Fix I made an interesting request of my stylist. I’ve been receiving and buying so many cute dresses and outfits and I absolutely love them – but I don’t know that I need a ton more. So I decided to request something a little bit different from my usual style. I asked my stylist to try and find clothing that was sexy without being provocative – maybe a little bit of a detour from my usual “cute” look. I knew it was a rather vague and not easy request to fulfill, but I thought she did a great job! Julie was my stylist again and she is great. She also mentions that she reads the blog – so, hi Julie! If you want to try Stitch Fix (and you can do so with my referral link!) I’d definitely recommend requesting her.
If you’re not familiar, Stitch Fix is a subscription box service that has you fill out a style profile survey, and then they send you 5 clothing items to try on – you decide what to keep and what to send back!
Let’s take a look at what I got!
Crescent Benatar Lace Applique Blouse – $44
For the most part I liked this. The detail on the top was nice, if the rest was a little plain. It had a high neckline which I wasn’t sure was flattering, and also wasn’t sure if it was sexy. So of course I asked the expert (my husband) and he said that for being a highly neckline it was for some reason “weirdly attractive.” Despite that, I sent it back. I did like it but I’m not sure I $44 liked it, especially compared to other stuff I got.
Collective Concepts Paddio Lace Inset Blouse – $54
In theory I liked this top – in fact, I had pinned it on my Pinterest as something I was interested in (in a different color though). I actually love bright, warm colors, but I’m not sure this yellow was the best look for me. The fit was just a little bit big on me and the top was rather see-through so it was another one that would require a tank underneath. For those reasons and the higher price point for a blouse I sent it back.
Papermoon Fatima Dress – $78
This was another one that I had put on Pinterest – I love the style of it and the pattern! I feel like it’s different from anything else I own. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it on me when I put it on. I need to wear a strapless bra with it which is a little bit of a downfall. I liked it and my husband and friends all said it looked good so I kept this one. Can’t wait til the weather gets warmer so I can wear it!
Brixon Ivy Bonita Dress – $88
There were a lot of things I loved about this dress. It fit really well and felt very comfy. It’s also pretty. But at the end of the day, it’s also $88 for basically a little black dress. Jason felt it was too boring and too expensive, so it didn’t make the cut.
Papermoon Paulette Lace Detail Blouse – $48
At first I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the floral pattern, but in person once I tried it on I really liked it! This one is something different and I really like the lace detailing at the top too. My favorite things I get from Stitch Fix are those that I feel like I haven’t seen in stores or could get something similar for less money. So this one was a keeper!
If you’re interested in signing up for your own Fix, I would love it if you’d use my referral link – it would give me a $25 credit to use on a future fix, and doesn’t cost you anything. I used a friend’s link when I signed up for mine so I could help her out, so I know it’s much appreciated!

What do you think of what I kept and returned? Anything you think I should have done differently?
I love the ‘little black dress’ with the fun details and I think I’ll be pinning that for myself! =)
Awesome, I hope you get it!
I have been hearing so much about Stitch Fix. Love the concept!
It is a really fun concept, I’m getting addicted to it!
Those dresses look amazing on you! Very cute!
Thank you so much, Cara!
I love the envy tank! I feel like those are the types of pieces I end up wearing more often.
Thanks, it is pretty cute!
I love that blue lace top and the boho type dress is super cute! Great casual looks!
Thanks, I agree – I love having something a little more casual!
That fatima dress is super cute on you! Glad you kept it!

Thank you, I’m excited for the weather to get warmer so I can actually wear it!
All of these look fab on you, I especially like the last tank!
Thanks so much – I’m wearing that tank now!
I love that navy top that you sent back. ? It is so cute on you.
Aww thanks! If it had been a little less money I probably would have kept it.
That yellow top is gorgeous on you. You have the skin tone to pull off such a bold color!

Aw thanks that’s good to hear! I love bright colors but I’m so pale that I’m never sure if yellows work on me.
I love the fatima dress! and the floral blouse!
I do too, I’m so happy with them!
I used to work as a stylist for them and Stitch Fix is a seriously amazing company. Papermoon is one of my favorite brands now. Love the floral top on you!
Oh, how cool that you worked as a stylist! I’m sure it must have been fun (but challenging!) to do that.
It was at times, but was also a great experience!
I love Stitch Fix reviews! I also love that yellow top, but I know exactly what you mean… I just don’t like the way I look in yellow either.
Thanks so much! I feel like yellow is such a hard color to pull off.
Both of those dresses are so cute! Bummer you sent the black one back!
I know, I really liked it – I just didn’t have another $88 to spend on another dress right now!
I enjoyed this post and loved a lot of the things they sent you! Especially those two dresses 🙂 I have heard a lot about Stitch Fix, will have to look into it.
Thanks! I highly recommend checking it out, it’s a lot of fun to get a Stitch Fix!
Definitely keep the halter dress babe! SO CUTE!
Thanks, I kept it and I can’t wait to wear it!
I love love love the Fatima dress in you, and I’m so glad you kept that one! It’s absolutely beautiful and flattering. Also, I don’t know if I mentioned it in a previous post or not, but I LOVE your hair at this length.
Thank you so much! I really like how my hair looks now too. It’s actually more maintenance than when it was long (because it poofs up from being short and I have to straighten it!), but it’s worth it.
I looooove the Papermoon dress!!
Thanks me too!
I love that dress! Looks fabulous on you! Great fix, and good choices.
I got very lucky with this fix! Thank you!
Have you tried LeTote? It’s like Stitch Fix but you rent the clothes and just send them back. I love it!!
Annette,
Main Street Creations
I haven’t heard of that one! I will definitely have to look into it!
I LOVE that patterned dress–that’s exactly like something I’d keep, too! I like the black dress, but for the price, I think you can find something else more exciting (plus, I know I’ve seen similar dresses for way less). I’d love to do a StitchFix soon if the budget allows–I think it would be so much fun to get new stuff each month!
I hope you try it, I’d love to see what you think of it! And I agree, I think I can probably find a similar black dress somewhere else.
Love the floral top that you kept! Perfect for dressing up a bit, and to wear more casually. I’m not normally a floral gal, but received an amazing top from Stitch Fix that I ended up keeping — I love it! Who knew!
Thanks – I’m not a huge floral person either but every once in awhile I find something that I love. That’s why I love Stitch Fix, it gets me to try on things I never would have picked up normally!
CUTE! I love the top you kept! And the first dress is adorable! The yellow top seemed to wash you out, so good call on returning it!
Thanks Chelsie! That was definitely my concern on the yellow top, but I’m super happy with what I kept!
love that last tank! I’ve never tried stitch fix, but I love seeing other people posting about theirs!
Thank you! It’s a lot of fun to try everything on, even if it’s not something I would normally wear!
