If you’re into LulaRoe at all, you know how addicting it can be just to look through what people are selling. I don’t buy much but I’m constantly browsing in case something hits me. There is one style of skirt they make that I really like called the Madison, and when I came across the perfect Madison I knew I had to buy it. With a red skirt and white polka dots of course it just screamed Minnie Mouse to me! I bought it and planned a Disney Bound for my solo trip last February.
If you’re not familiar, Disney Bounding is a super fun way to show a little of your Disney passion without being over the top obvious about it. Basically, Disney Bounding is when you dress in the colors or style of a certain character, but you use your every day clothes instead of a costume. I’ve done Disney bounds as Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Dory, Snow White, Gaston, and Winnie the Pooh (blog post on that one still to come!).
This one was a nice one to do because once I had the skirt, I was able to easily put together the rest of the outfit. And with the classic Minnie Mouse ears, it was an easily recognizable and classic look. I got a lot of compliments on it throughout my day at Magic Kingdom.
Unfortunately, with LulaRoe you just have to hope to find the perfect outfit. The good news is that you can find similar style skirts with that same Minnie Mouse look on Amazon. In fact, this one here looks pretty perfect!
The shirt was the easiest part. You can use any black shirt that you might have. This one I’m wearing came from Target, but you can get a simple black one online too. Though I’m guessing most people probably already have a solid black top somewhere in their closet.
The mouse ears do a lot to complete the look, though if you were to do this Disney Bound on a day when you’re not actually in the theme parks you might not want to wear them to work! However around Disney they’re totally fine and adorable. These you can buy while you’re down in the parks.
I finished my outfit with black flip flops since that’s what I had in my closet and what is most comfortable for me walking around the parks, but if you get a pair of yellow flats it would be even more perfect! Lots are available, but I like these bright yellow ones with the bow on them.
These are all the basics you need for a Minnie Mouse Disney bound! Really with just the skirt and shirt you’re good to go, but the more details the better. Perhaps you can find some other things to add too, like a fun necklace or other jewelry items that would go well!
What do you think of this Minnie Mouse Disney Bound? Which classic Disney character would you want to do an outfit for?
I had never heard of “bounding” before, so this is a totally new concept for me. I’ve also never had the privilege of really travelling much. That said, this is totally cute and I would definitely dress the part, too, if I had the chance to go 🙂
You can totally bound at home too if you feel like it – when I did my Ariel Disney Bound I just wore a green dress with a purple sweater – and only big Disney fans made the connection!
This is a super cute outfit! My family and I all had a blast Disneybounding when we went to WDW in April, but we never had a Minnie and Mickey day. I think we’ll have to do that next time!!! So adorable!
That sounds so cute, who did you Disney Bound as?
