I’ve long been a fan of Disney subscription boxes, and have tried a number of them in the past few years. I decided to wanted to subscribe again and I chose Mickey Monthly for my current subscription!
You can see my post on how I customized my box in this post (and used the discount DISDAY to get 20% off!). But for the basics I ordered the Mickey sized theme park box, which comes with anywhere from 2-6 items. I chose a combination of snacks and souvenirs, ages 18+, and gender neutral.
And I’m excited to show what I got! If you prefer video I put together a little unboxing video, but I’ll also go over the items I received here:
First up was a Jack Skellington sugar cookie. This was a fun Halloween treat. It’s a large cookie and it tastes delicious. I will say that there is definitely a subtle flavor of almond in the cookie, which I really enjoyed. It doesn’t have a price on it but a Mickey sugar cookie is about $5.50 so we’ll say this is probably the same.
The next item out of the box was a Mickey pumpkin candle holder. It’s always fun to have some more Disney Halloween decor, and I think this item is super cute. It’s really nice, ceramic, and will look really cool once I put a votive inside and put it in front of the window. Definitely a great item, with a price tag of $16.99.
Finally I received a Disney mug! Of course I love mugs, and I was especially excited to receive one I didn’t have yet. Just to note – this was not a Halloween specific box, though they do sell those. It was just my regular September box with some Halloween goodies, but not everything was Halloween! This mug is from Finding Nemo and features those fun seagulls who are constantly saying “Mine! Mine! Mine!”. The outside is cute but my favorite part is actually inside the mug, on the very bottom where you’ll find yet another seagull. This mug goes for $16.99.
My Thoughts Overall
Quality of items – I loved it! I got two really nice household items that are ceramic (nothing cheap looking or plastic). And since I also get snacks with my box the sugar cookie was perfect for Halloween.
Value – The Mickey box costs $50, but with my 20% off code I paid $40. The actual tangible value of these items is $39.48, which is pretty much what I paid. But aside from that you also have the intangible values, like getting these items delivered to your door, and having them be a surprise so it’s a fun even when you open the box.
I’m super pleased with my September Mickey Monthly box! We’ll see how the next few months fare but it’s off to a great start. If this looks like something you would enjoy, order your own at MickeyMonthly.com – and be sure to use that code DISDAY for 20% off!
