Guess what? It’s Mickey Monthly time! One of the best Disney subscription boxes out there, I’ve been looking forward to getting my box of Disney goodies every month directly from the theme parks.
You can see my post on how I customized my box in this post (and used the discount DISDAY to get 20% off!). But for the basics I ordered the Mickey sized theme park box, which comes with anywhere from 2-6 items. I chose a combination of snacks and souvenirs, ages 18+, and gender neutral.
If you prefer video I put together a little unboxing video, but I’ll also go over the items I received here:
There’s always at least one food item, and this time I got a large Mickey rice krispie treat covered in chocolate and decorated with Christmas colored sprinkles. You can’t go wrong with the combination of chocolate and rice krispie treat. The snacks don’t come with a price on them, but given how much Disney usually charges for this sort of thing I’d guess it was about $7.95.
The main item in the box was a Christmas ornament. We knew we were getting one ahead of time, because you can choose to opt out of an ornament if you’d like (or substitute it for a Hanukkah related item). You’re also sent a survey to fill out which movie/character you’d be most interested in getting. I know I put Inside Out and Sword in the Stone (not sure if I listed any others). So I got an Inside Out ornament! It’s an ear hat that has Bing Bong and Joy and Sadness on the ears. I’m really glad they sent a park exclusive ornament and not one that you could get at the Disney Store. This one was $24.99.
Finally the last item in this box was a Mickey Mouse shaped cookie cutter. I make a lot of cookies and I actually already have this cookie cutter (that I used last year!). It’s pretty large and makes big, delicious cookies. It was $7.95.
My Thoughts Overall
Quality of Items – I enjoyed all three items in this box. I really love the ornament. I’ve liked the Ear Hat style ornaments for awhile but never bought one as they are a bit pricey. I do like the cookie cutter since I already have one! And rice krispie treats covered in chocolate are delicious.
Value – adding up the cost of the items in this box, they have a value of about $40.89. This is perhaps a little bit under what I might like, though I think part of it is that I already own the cookie cutter, so the value of what I personally get out of this box is decreased a bit. The Christmas ornament is great though, and just the sort of thing I love but probably would not have bought for myself.
If this looks like something you would enjoy, order your own at MickeyMonthly.com – and be sure to use that code DISDAY for 20% off!
