I received this box from Mickey Monthly in exchange for a review, but all opinions are my own.
It’s always a wonderful day when I see the blue Mickey Monthly box on my doorstep! It’s definitely a good way to cheer myself up on an off day (it seems I’ve been having too many of those recently).
Mickey Monthly has a variety of options on their website now which is great for whatever budget you have and whatever it is you’re looking for. The box I received this time around was one of their theme park boxes, which contains products from the parks. I got the castle-sized box, which costs $79.99.
One of the things to keep in mind with this sort of subscription box is that you’re not just paying for the items themselves, you’re also paying for the convenience. To get actual Disney products that are relevant and current you’re not going to find them at a discount – and in order for a subscription box company to make any sort of profit they need to charge more than what the items are worth (not to mention the time it takes for them to purchase the items and curate the boxes). So this kind of subscription is really perfect for people who want surprises, Disney treats, and don’t have the ability to get Disney items from the parks easily. Mickey Monthly states to expect a 55%+ value of package price.
First I want to say that the packaging is great. Everything is packed really well in the box and they fit a lot in while making sure nothing would get damaged. Plus, my box happened to be delivered right before a thunderstorm so it was rather damp when I got to it. But even though the box was wet everything in it was still in perfect condition.
The first item was a Sorcerer Mickey signature puzzle. Puzzles are really popular with people recently, and this 1000 piece puzzle is a perfect challenge for adults. This one is beautiful and I can’t wait until my play is over and I have a little more free time to do something like this!
I’m a big fan of retro style Disney art, and this Pinocchio notebook is adorable. I love Figaro! I often bring a notebook with me to write down what we did in the parks for the day so I remember (and so I can blog about it!) so I think this will be nice for that.
The other main souvenir item in the box was this Mickey spoon rest. The spoon rest we have in our kitchen actually broke recently and we never replaced it, so I was very excited to see this! Plus, it’s really cute.
In addition to these items there were also some Disney theme park edibles! The box included a Mickey rice krispie treat, which is always wonderful. Also some shortbread cookies with Mickey on them, which I’ve been enjoying.
According to my calculations the value of the items in the box was about 63% of the cost of the box, so even better than the minimum 55% that Mickey Monthly guarantees. They’ve consistently provided great products and a reliable service, so if you’re looking for some fun Disney goodies in the mail I highly recommend you check them out! They have tons of satisfied customers and remain my top Disney subscription box choice thanks to all of the options they have and their great service.
What is your favorite item from this box?
I had no idea these were a thing and now I must have this!!! I love all things Disney and I’d love to have one of these every month. Checking this out now 🙂
Yes, they are so fun to get something Disney every month!
This is really neat! I love that you can find a subscription box for just about any interest these days! 🙂
I know – and there are actually a number of different Disney subscription boxes!
This seems like a great box this month! I really wasn’t impressed with the one I had gotten so I’m on the fence about keeping it.
Yeah, I saw your video – did you get the original box or the theme park box?
I got the theme park box!
This is a cool idea! Of course, I go to Disney way too often to justify this, but if I ever move, I’m doing it!
Yeah, if I was right there I wouldn’t need something like this – but being in Pennsylvania it’s nice to get a little bit of Disney here!
I love that Mickey spoon rest! So cute. I also love to do puzzles, although I haven’t had a chance to do one for a long time. Hope you get a chance once your play is over.
Yes! My husband, who does a lot of the cooking, was excited to see the Mickey spoon rest too since we haven’t had one for a bit.
Oh that spoon rest is so cute! What a fun box!
