March tournament 2024 – Marvel superheroes, round 3

YOU have spoken – here are the Marvel superheroes who made it to round 3!

Some of the match-ups this round still went the way I expected them to go, but most were a lot closer than I thought they would be! And some that I thought would be close were really not. Spider-Man beat Captain Marvel pretty handily, and Black Panther took a big lead over Scarlet Witch.

Some of the results were only a few votes apart, and really could have gone either way. Our closest match-up was Winter Soldier vs. Ms. Marvel. Interestingly, Winter Soldier came out on top with the blog voting, but Ms. Marvel took a bigger lead with instagram votes to be our ultimate winner in that pairing. And although Captain Carter won her match-up, Kate Bishop put up quite a good showing! And Captain America beat Star Lord, but it wasn’t by as much as I expected.

On a personal note, I lost a few of my favorites – I guess Ant-Man just couldn’t compete with Iron Man. And some of my favorite ladies are out of the running (I’ll miss Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch). But there are lots of great heroes left for this round!

Now that we’re down to the top 8 of Marvel superheroes it’s only going to get more difficult. We have a really interesting and powerful line-up here and there will be some tough choices!

We also have the classic/epic match-up or Iron Man vs Captain America this time around (perhaps I can convince you Captain America is the right choice – or you might agree with my brother and vote for Iron Man). And Spider-Man vs. Black Panther is going to be an interesting one.

Soon we will be left with one from our original Avengers, one “Disney+” hero, one of the newer Avengers, and one from my “other” category.

So these are your final 8 of the best Marvel superheroes – cast your votes and let’s see what happens!

Did your favorite Marvel superhero make the cut? Which one(s) are you rooting for this round?
