You are probably familiar with the popular parlor game, Kill Boff Marry, where given the choice between three people, you must decide which you’d murder, sleep with and spend the rest of your life with.
Well, Estelle from This Happy Place Blog and Melissa Sue from Mouse on the Mind transformed the game into a WDW-themed version called Kill Refurb Marry. Then they added a little Blog Hop action so everyone can play along!
I love frozen treats. They are probably my favorite kind of treat! So I was looking forward to this month’s Kill, Refurb, Marry.
Kill – Auntie Gravity’s Smoothie
There is no way that this could be called a smoothie. Maybe (hopefully) it’s improved since I got one in 2011, but back then it was pretty much all chunks of ice. Not smooth at all. I don’t remember which flavor I got but I do know that it was very artificially sweet and not at all what I was hoping for. Not a smoothie by any stretch of the imagination, so I am quite happy to kill it off.
Refurb – Mickey Bar
Mickey bars are good, there’s not denying that. But they’re also a little… well… boring. I think we could make them even better. Let’s switch up the flavor of ice cream that you can get. I’m a chocolate/chocolate girl myself, or how about strawberry ice cream? In fact, we could make a whole Mickey bar shop where you could customize it – just picture it, your choice of ice cream, hand dipped in chocolate, and then adorned with whatever sprinkles/candy/nuts you desire. Kind of like the create your own items at Goofy’s Candy Co, but with ice cream!
Marry – Citrus Swirl
If you know me or have followed this blog for awhile, this is probably not a huge surprise. I love the citrus swirl. It’s not just my favorite frozen Disney treat, it’s my favorite Disney treat period. So it was a no-brainer for me to pick this. The creamy vanilla ice cream swirled together with the more icy and tart orange is a true match made in heaven. Plus, I also love its mascot, the orange bird!
Which frozen treats would you kill, refurb, and marry?
Check out what other bloggers have to say on this topic here:
I’m with you on the citrus swirl!
Oh good, I love me some citrus swirl!
I’m with you on the Mickey ice cream. Chocolate and strawberry is classic! Even if they weren’t in the carts around the parks, being able to go into some of the treat stores to get them would be nice.
I would love strawberry and chocolate. Or even seasonal ones, like peppermint ice cream during the holidays!
I don’t think that its really a “Disney classic” per-say, but I always like the frozen lemonade in magic kingdom.
And no- your blog is not “too niche” I love disney, and there is so much to say about it!
I enjoy the frozen lemonade too, it’s very refreshing on warm days. Thanks for stopping by!
I am so with you! The citrus swirl – YUM!!
It’s heavenly!
What a fun game! I want vanilla coating with strawberry swirls and strawberry ice cream. It sounds good on a hot day. Otherwise, I’ll take chocolate on chocolate!
That sounds delicious!
Agreed on the Mickey Bars. They’re iconic but could use something new. And the citrus swirl is a no-brainer!
Yes, I think even the iconic things can be spruced up from time to time!
I love chocolate chocolate ice cream bars, and a make your own would be even better .That citrus swirl sounds yummy
Yes it is so good!
Too funny! I think you’re on the right track with the Mickey bars!
Haha thanks!
I need to get my hands on that citrus swirl and I add sprinkles to every and all ice cream but what doesn’t look better with sprinkles!
I love sprinkles! I also love chocolate so if I’m having non-chocolate flavored ice cream I usually at least have to put chocolate sprinkles on 😉
I don’t know about kill or refurb… but I would marry the pineapple float from the Dole booth by the Swiss Family Robinson house at Disney World!!!!
I think a lot of people would marry the Dole Whip! I know so many people who love it. I enjoy it but the citrus swirl will always have my heart 🙂
Yummy treats but I think they could switch up the Mickey bar. I love the Dole Whip the most.
I do really enjoy dole whip too – especially now that you can get it with coconut rum in the Animal Kingdom!
