You are probably familiar with the popular parlor game, Kill Boff Marry, where given the choice between three people, you must decide which you’d murder, sleep with and spend the rest of your life with.
Well, Estelle from This Happy Place Blog and Melissa Sue from Mouse on the Mind transformed the game into a WDW-themed version called Kill Refurb Marry. Then they added a little Blog Hop action so everyone can play along!
So I’ll admit, I’m not much of a swimmer. I almost never use the pools when I’m at Disney because, well, there’s just other things I’d rather be doing. So most of these choices are based on photos I’ve seen of the pools, not actual experience!
Kill – Pop Century
Technically I wouldn’t kill any pool, because even the worst pool is better than no pool at all at a hotel. And the values especially need pools with all the kids they attract. But if you were to completely kill a pool and start over, I think it would have to be the one at Pop. It’s just boring. Even at the All-Stars they have a few more interesting things around. Pop just has a couple of flowers that spray you. And there’s not much of a splash area for kids. Start over with this one and make it much more fun and family friendly.
Refurb – The Boardwalk
It’s got a great slide… it’s just that the slide is a terrifying clown. Get rid of that thing that will give you nightmares and replace it with something else appropriately Boardwalk themed, and you’ve got one great pool! I mean the slide itself looks awesome, it’s just the clown vomiting kids that’s the problem. So yes, the only thing I would do to refurb this area is get rid of the creepy clown.
Marry – Stormalong Bay at Yacht and Beach Club
I mean, is there anyone who isn’t going to choose this as their marry option? It’s huge and it has a pirate ship! I haven’t been at this pool yet but I walked by it when I last visited Beaches and Cream. It looks pretty awesome and I’d love to try it.
Make sure to check out what other bloggers have chosen by visiting the Kill, Refurb, Marry blog hop!
Just made plans to go to Orlando in February this past weekend. Thank you thank you thank you 🙂
That is so exciting! If you have any questions let me know 🙂 And check out the rest of the blog for some good resources on a variety of topics!
This is a super cute idea. LOVE IT! If it’s okay, I’d like to use this on The Daily Dayne sometime. Giving you all the credit of course 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!!!
It’s actually a blog hop started by Mouse on the Mind (www.mouseonthemind.com), and I’m sure they would love it if you tried it on your own blog sometime!
I agree with you about the clown! It’s the stuff of nightmares.
Right? I mean who thought that was a good idea!
Would you PLEASE write a post on my blog? I loved reading this one in particular. I actually “warn” my clients about the clown pool feature at the Boardwalk. Thank you for calling it what it is!! I truly love this blog post and would love to have a guest post swap! 🙂

I’d be happy to write something for your blog! Let me know if there’s a certain topic or something I could cover 🙂
This is such a cute idea for a post and it really makes me wish I was lounging by a Disney pool right now. I totally agree about the clown though! I feel like the slide would even be fine with nothing over the clown.
I think everyone is in agreement about getting rid of the clown – come on Disney, make it happen!
I love love love this! I can see it going in so many directions and I love your blog. I am a HUGE Disney fan, and we actually got engaged in Disney World. Can’t wait to go back and read more of your posts. =D
Aww, that must have been a lovely engagement! Where did he propose there? Let me know what you think about the rest of the blog 🙂
Omg being a Disney fanatic and former central FL resident I just love this! The board walk pool was always a goofy one to me lol….
