How to use essential oils for your Disney vacation

May 21, 2019 by Becky 4 Comments

I will be totally honest: I had resisted essential oils for awhile, because I found it hard to buy into the fact that some scented oils could really help me with my emotional, physical, or mental state. I have always struggled with anxiety, and lately it’s gotten to be too much that I’ve been willing to branch out and try things I might not have before.  Essential oils is one thing that I have dabbled in, and I have to say that I’m so glad I have. It turns out they really do have an affect – while it may not be a “cure all,” using essential oils has helped me in a lot of different ways.

And you know one good time when essential oils can really come in handy? When you’re at Disney! There is so much going on during a Disney vacation: lots of physical activity, emotional stress, and stimuli. Turns out essential oils work well during this, too.

The best part? Instead of just using some random essential oils on your Disney trip, Katie from Being Katie Brave has designed her own set of essential oils specifically designed for use at Disney. Not only are these blends great for your Disney trip, they come in the most adorable little Mickey or Minnie bag for easy carry around the parks!

Want your own set? Use the code disneyday for 10% off your order!

Let’s take a look at the blends and what I think they’d be great for in Disney:

Be Calm

Lavender – Cedar Wood – Siberian Fir

How to use it in Disney:

  • I don’t know about you, but I can definitely get stressed in Disney, especially in large crowds – so Be Calm will help when I’m surrounded by too many people
  • Before going to bed – sometimes I’m too excited to calm down and sleep when I’m at Disney!
  • For kids who are getting close to a meltdown
  • If you have any feelings of tension after a long day walking around the parks

Be Energized

Wild Orange – Peppermint – Lemon

How to use it in Disney:

  • If you got up super early for rope drop and the mid-afternoon sleepiness starts hitting you, use this for a quick pick-me-up.
  • Great for stomach aches – whether you’re experiencing motion sickness from some of the rides or the rich and delicious Disney food!
  • Also good for headaches – I get them a lot and don’t want a headache to ruin my vacation
  • Use on the feet to alleviate foot pain due to lots of walking

Be Happy

Lime – Tangerine – Grapefruit

How to use it in Disney:

  • If you have a frustrating interaction with another guest or family member
  • When the stress gets high
  • Keep your spirits up on long lines
  • If you just want to feel little bit of extra Disney magic!

Be Present

Cilantro-Cypress-Lemon

How to use it in Disney:

  • Slow down a little to take in all of your surroundings and notice the little details
  • Can help relieve cold symptoms, so if you feel yourself getting sick try some of this
  • If you’re feeling like you’re being pulled in a million directions at once with too much to do

So what do you think – do you use essential oils? How would you use them at Disney?

For a long time essential oils have been used not only for their pleasant aroma; but for all the benefits they have.

Mother Nature is wise for all the benefits it brings; and we must be wise to use essential oils to take advantage of all their characteristics!

I’ve never used essentially oils, but I’m definitely intrigued! This may be a silly question, but I’ve always wondered how you use them? In a diffuser? Or applied on your skin? ??‍♀️
