The next couple of weeks of training are going to be a little weird because I’ll be in Disney for 10 days and I don’t know if I’ll get any running in at all! Due to this I’m aiming for 2 runs the next couple of weeks instead of 3, and I’ll be rearranging things a little bit.
Here’s what week 7 is supposed to look like. Because I knew I’d have bad weather later in the week, I decided to do my long run at the beginning of the week and I only did one short run.
The long run was supposed to be 8 miles. I started out really well, running around my hometown while home for the Thanksgiving holidays. And then all of the sudden, after about 6 miles, I started getting really bad stomach pains. Not to go into too much detail but I’ve had issues with IBS before, and they were these awful pains that just knock you over and make you want to curl up into a ball. So needless to say I decided to end my run early. I really wish I could have done the 8 miles, but I’m happy I at least got a decent run in.
Due to the rain I was forced to the treadmill for my short run. Not much to say about this, other than it is what it is. It’s also tougher to get used to my new sneakers on the treadmill but we’re working on it! Fingers crossed there won’t be a ton of treadmill runs this winter.
Have you been exercising lately? What’s your favorite way to burn calories?
Great job on your runs! I love HIIT training and resistance in training with weights, body weight, and bands!
Thanks! I haven’t tried HIIT yet but it sounds like a great all-around workout!
That’s really great that you’re still getting your runs in while you’re at Disney. I’ve been doing pretty good keeping up my classes at the gym. Last Sunday, I actually stayed for 2 in a row. That was a little much. 🙂
At the very least if I don’t get much running in while I’m here I’m getting tons of walking in!
Wow, 8 miles sounds like a long run! Go you! 🙂 I have never really enjoyed running, but sometimes I wish I did because it sounds like a great form of exercise! I love dancing… ballroom, ballet, Zumba… anything that involves dancing I enjoy. 🙂
Thanks! 8 runs is about my limit before it starts being really painful, haha. Hopefully I can bump that number up!
I’m such a newbie, what do you use to track your runs?
For a long time I was using the free version of the app RunKeeper on my phone. I actually still use it when I run but now I also have the FitBit Surge fitness watch that has a GPS, so I keep track that way was well. If you have any other questions let me know and I’d be happy to help!
