I was sent a box to review for this blog post. However, all opinions are honest and my own.
Do you have a family member or friend who is a Disney lover, but you don’t know what to get them for the holidays this year? One of my favorite ideas is to go with a Disney subscription box. Whether you choose a 1 time box just for Christmas or a monthly subscription, here’s why I think it’s a great option:
First, because a monthly subscription is the gift that keeps on giving. So if you go with this option you’re giving something not just on one day, but something that will remain special throughout the year. Second, a good Disney subscription box is well curated by other Disney lovers. So you know it will be things the person will really enjoy. Finally, if you go with a company like Gifts from Mickey, you’re likely to get something that the person does not already have.
Gifts from Mickey really goes above and beyond in designing their boxes and selecting the items that they send out. They try to go with items that are only available in the parks (not even on the Disney website) for those that can’t be in the theme parks all the time. I also see a lot of new merchandise, increasing the chances that your gift recipient doesn’t have an item already. And they usually include at least 1 edible, so you know that’s always a hit.
Boxes are somewhat customizable, too. For the general boxes you can select if it’s for a male, female, or if you’d prefer it to be gender neutral. There are lots of specialized boxes too, including a coffee lovers box, Animal Kingdom box, Epcot box, housewares box, snack box, and even a popcorn box! So if you know of someone who has a particular interest in one of those things that’s great option as well.
I received the Be Our Guest box, which is $99.99/month and includes 3-8 mystery items from the parks. It’s always a fun day when my Gifts from Mickey arrive, but this box seemed to be even better than ever before! I pulled out wonderful item after wonderful item, and truly liked everything that was inside. Let’s take a look at what I got:
You know I love getting a new Disney mug, so I was pretty excited to see this one show up in my box! The Starbucks “You are Here” mugs have been popular at Disney, and they just released a new set of them, one for each of the 4 parks. I got the new Magic Kingdom one and it’s too cute! Of course it’s got the castle on it, but you’ll also find that cute hippo from Small World, the Sword in the Stone, Dumbo, Rapunzel’s tower, and more!
I’m a big Animal Kingdom fan, and Pandora: the World of Avatar is truly a stunning place to be, both during the day and at night. So this reusable bag with a scene of Pandora at night is hands down one of the prettiest I have now!
Who doesn’t love socks? I’m a big fan of these subtly Disney ones. There are two pairs in this set – one has Mickey in the color, and the other has a black and white Mickey.
When I pulled out the box that this was in, I can’t deny that I got super excited at seeing “Arribas Brothers” on the front! I love going into that shop and looking at everything. It’s all gorgeous, but I’ve never bought anything because it’s on the expensive side. This is a mini stein with my favorite princess on it from Epcot.
I love all sorts of Disney snacks, but this really stood out because it’s something you can’t get unless you’re actually in Disney World, and it’s only available in November and December. It’s gingerbread from the gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian! I am so excited to eat this. I could smell it as soon as I opened to box and it smelled AMAZING.
This is another small item that is the perfect example of what makes Gifts from Mickey such a special subscription box. This is a button that was given away in the parks on Mickey Mouse’s birthday. The only way to get it was to be the parks on that specific date. Something that’s not going to happen for most of us Disney fans outside of Florida. So this is something that really has special meaning.
Have you ever exited Tower of Terror into the gift shop and felt the need to ring one of these bells on the display? Because I definitely have. And now I’ve got one of my own! I’m thinking it might be a cute item to add to my Disney themed guest room.
This keychain was in the box, which is very cute and has a castle on it. I love anything with the castle. The small Mickey shaped key with the blue gemstone is an adorable addition too.
Another item I was very excited to see! Basin has some amazing soaps and bath bombs, and I often pick myself up a little goody when I’m there. This Mickey soap is adorable and I know once I open it, it will smell great. I can’t wait to use up my current boring bar of soap so I can break this one open.
Finally, this beautiful photo frame was also in the box. I love how it’s subtly Disney and I know that my husband will appreciate that it’s not completely over the top Disney. I’m going to have to look through my Disney pictures and find the perfect one to go in this frame.
Once again I was thoroughly impressed with the items in my box from Gifts from Mickey. There are things of good value, like the Arribas Brothers item and the picture frame, but there’s also things that have more emotional value for Disney fans who can’t be at the parks as often as they’d like, such as the Mickey button and the gingerbread. As a far away Disney fan, I know if I received a subscription or box of Gifts from Mickey for Christmas, I would be one happy camper.
What’s your favorite item in this Gifts from Mickey box?
I’ll never understand why girls like socks so much, lol!
I love that Tower of Terror bell though!
Haha I don’t know, socks are warm and fun! I always seem to lose at least one of them too, so I can always use more lol.
What a fun subscription box! One of these days when I’m rich I am totally signing up for them lol
I remember seeing that white frame in the parks and really liking it – subtle but classy but still Disney. I allllmost bought it for us when we went in May for our Honeymoon, since it looks all wedding-y…but ended up passing.
I absolutely ring the bells on my way out of ToT! I think I bought my mom one as a souvenir a few years ago….But always regretted not buying one for myself. Next time!
lol I know, I wish I could subscribe to more of them! I have a subscription to Disney Treasures right now, and once that’s done I’m going to pick a different one. I think I might try new ones every 6 months, haha.
That frame would be a great one for a wedding or honeymoon photo too!
I’ve never been to Disney, but I definitely appreciate the movies and everything Disney! I love the idea of gifting this box as a subscription. I have a coworker and a client who would absolutely love this for the holidays.
I think a subscription box would be a really fun Christmas present to receive!
Love each of these items! I love the mugs and the Tower of Terror Bell especially!!
I agree, the Tower of Terror bell is so fun!
