How’s your weekend been? I’m thinking this post will be rather short because it was a relatively uninteresting week in terms of running. The big news is that I’m done with physical therapy. My last session was on Friday and I have a bunch of at home exercises to work on. Hopefully things will continue to improve and go smoothly.
An easy week this week with 2 short runs and a 4 mile run. And I got everything in this week, so yay! Go me. I don’t know if I’ll be able to squeeze in all 4 runs for this coming week, including the 12.5 mile long run, but we’ll see.
The first short run I did on Sunday. On the treadmill. I tend to stay consistent on the treadmill, which I guess is good, but also rather boring. So I kept my 10:40 pace.
Another short run on Wednesday. About the same pace. I find it hard to increase past this pace on the treadmill, even though I can definitely go faster outside. I’m not sure why that is.
And then on Saturday it was the 4 mile run. It was 53 degrees so the good news is I got to go outside! The bad news is I have a bit of a head cold so I’ve been congested, which doesn’t make running easy. I started off to do my magic mile but I think the excitement of actually being outside made me run too fast. I was supposed to aim for an 11 minute mile, but I ended up doing a 10:47 mile. I felt pretty good while running but felt icky afterwards because of my cold. So I’m going to take a few days to rest and try to kick this thing in the butt.
How has your weekend been? Have you gotten sick this winter or are you one of the lucky ones to escape it?
