DL half marathon training – one week to go!

August 28, 2015 by Becky 8 Comments

week 17So in 1 week I will be running the Disneyland half marathon!  Things are very real now.  I get on a plane in just a couple of days to go to California for the first time.  I’ve gotten my waiver printed, my corral placement, and tracking texts set up.  This will be my last training post on this since when I come back I will be doing a race recap!

week 17 sun

Sunday I went for an evening run after rehearsal.  The cooler air was really nice, but I was still a bit sore from my 13 mile run on Friday so I could definitely still feel it in my legs.  I took it a little slower because of that.

week 17 wed

Wednesday was another nighttime run, and it was really a fantastic run.  I kept a pace that is more reminiscent of what I was doing a year ago and I felt a lot better about the run then I have recently.  Yay!

week 17 fri

Early this morning I got up for my 4 mile run.  It went pretty well despite the fact that I was still pretty tired.  Hopefully I’m ready for this!!

So exciting!! I’m sure you will do great in the race 🙂 I’ve always wanted to run at Disney World.. but 5K is more my style!

Thanks so much! Most of the Disney race weekends have added a 5k option now, so if you are ever in Disney during one of those weekends you should do the 5k!

I’m so excited for you! I absolutely love California…I even lived there for a couple years. You’re going to do awesome in the half marathon. I’ll be cheering you on all the way from WI 🙂

I’ll definitely be sharing lots of photos – maybe even some on instagram or facebook during the race!
