A little more than 1 month away from the DL half marathon – and since we arrive the week before, that means it’s only one month til we visit Disneyland for the first time! It’s hard to believe it’s getting so close!
Now here’s a question I have for you – should I register for the Hershey half marathon? It’s in October, about a month after Disneyland. I think I’m going to!
Monday I got in a half hour run. It was a pretty good one!
Wednesday I skipped my run for multiple reasons. To begin with, it had been a crazy week. Also, on Monday’s run I realized my toe nails were too long, and my one nail cut into one of my toes and I was in pain. Sometimes I think it’s better to know when to take a break if you need it – I don’t think skipping one 30 minute run in the middle of the week will ruin my training!
Friday was a 4 mile run. It’s funny, but in some ways this one felt harder than my 11 mile run last week. Just circumstances I guess. It was very hot out, and I just wasn’t in a “running mood.” But I got it done. I’m going to try and not focus so much one pace and just focus on getting the miles done and the accomplishment of that!
oh man! I want to train for a half marathon so badly! Its on my bucket list… but it’s quite intimidating. I live in FL so I’ve always wanted to do the Disney Princess HM at Disney World. Have you always been a runner?
I’ve definitely not always been a runner! In fact, in high school I was one of those kids who absolutely dreaded the day we had to run the mile in gym class. I started off doing couch to 5k, then training for a 10k, and then working my way up to a half marathon. I’ve done the Princess one in Disney and it’s amazing! I think you could definitely do it – the races at Disney are so friendly and there are a lot of people that take it slow.
Sounds like you’re doing great with your training! I definitely think you should do the Hershey marathon too. Good luck!
Thank you!
How exciting! Love reading about your progress!
Thanks so much!
I saw in the comments you are a lot more like me, I dreaded running! The progress you’ve made is awesome; I definitely think you should try the Hershey one too! Good luck:)
I used to hate running! But I think that’s because in school they really pushed you more than they should have if you didn’t run regularly. I do a run/walk strategy that works really well for me.
Running a Disney half-marathon sounds like such a fun thing to do and much more exciting than just any half marathon! I would love to do it sometime in my lifetime, but I have a long way to go until I’m fit enough. I hope you have an amazing time at your first visit to Disneyland!
It is definitely the best half marathon! I’m sure with a little practice you could do it!
