Wow, so I’m only three weeks away from the half marathon and less than that til my trip. I have been looking forward to it for so long, but now it almost feels like it’s sneaking up on me! I still have so much to do before we leave. I haven’t even finished my costume for the race! Hopefully I can get some things done this afternoon.
Monday I was able to go for a run in the evening, when it was a little cooler. It was a decent run and I felt pretty good about it.
Some days God decides that he doesn’t want you to go for a run – and on those days, he gives you a charley horse. On Wednesday I woke up early around 6am with a bad muscle cramp/spasm in my left calf. I used to get them all the time but ever since I really started drinking a lot of water they’ve been rare. When I do get them they are bad though, and there was no way I was running for that day or the next one. Oh well, gotta take care of the body!
While there was still a little soreness on Friday it wasn’t too bad so I got out there for 4 miles. It was hot, I was kinda slow, but I got it done! It’s funny though, because I almost feel lately like when I run I don’t have the endurance I used to. Like, short runs used to feel relatively easy and now they’re usually a challenge. I don’t know what’s up with that because I’ve been sticking with my training plan like I have before. Hopefully it gets better soon as I continue to train – even after this race I will be preparing for the Glass Slipper Challenge next February!
Two things on my list:Disneyland and a half marathon!
I’m very excited to be crossing Disneyland off of my bucket list soon!
Wow. It is coming up fast. You’re going to do great. Can’t wait to see your outfit.
Good luck with the rest of your training. I ran the inaugural Disney Wine and Dine several years ago. I will begin training for RnR Arizona half and RnR New Orleans full soon.
Looks like your training is coming along great!! You will have so much fun running at Disney! It was an awesome experience! Good luck!
